Just Wow
This is what technology is for. This door is worth every penny. We had to travel and leave our pets at home, and this, coupled with a small Wyze camera, allowed me to have perfect peace of mind and them to have a comfortable and familiar stay-cation at home. The curfew mode made sure that they were both safely inside every night, and the lock-out of other animals kept me from worrying other animals may try to visit. Being able to lock the door at a moment's notice from thousands of miles away is a special kind of peace of mind. The accompanying app alerts you to when your pet enters and leaves and allows you to see a cumulative total of time they've been inside and outside each day. It worked great for multiple pets, and set up was pretty simple. I am just so glad someone invented it!!! Our dogs are around 18 pounds and fit through the door great, but medium-sized dogs on the larger side would not fit. I would love to see a slightly bigger model available. Excellent for our pets. Reliable, convenient, and just all-around awesome!

This pet door changed my life. 5+ stars!
I cannot say enough good things about this product! As long as you are somewhat tech savvy, this door is amazing and easy to install. I cannot tell you how appreciative I am about the benefits that installing this pet door has done for me. No longer does my cat wake me up in the early morning to go out because he now has learned that when the door comes out of curfew mode (with an audible click), that he can go outside without waking me up…. If I could give this product six stars, I would… and on a sidenote, their customer service is amazing. I have a very sneaky cat, who sometimes goes through the door very slowly, which results in the door staying open half an inch. I do not think this is a fault of the product, but rather the fact that I adopted a feral cat that is as quiet as a ninja. I do not think this would be a common issue for most animals going through the door... that being said, I reached out to the company and they overnighted me a heavier door with stronger magnets that completely solved the problem. They are located in England by the way, so overnighting a new door to me was way beyond what I expected. The door and the app work flawlessly. I don’t think I could ever go back to a regular door again… I am secretly hoping they make a version for humans, so I can get a microchip put in my wrist and never have keys again! Seriously… an amazing product, amazing customer service and I highly recommend it!

Do not purchase for a metal door-IT WILL NOT WORK
I ordered this door 4 months ago. We installed it in a metal exterior door which has a thin metal exterior over styrofoam. I tried all the code changes on the unit to increase the unit's sensitivity, as well as numerous buffers between the metal and the unit to allow the microwaves of the unit to work with my cat's microchip (which is the newest 15 digit chip the unit is supposed to work with). The unit would not recognize my cat's chip, or the ID collar that came with the unit unless the chip or collar are right up against the roof of the unit & against the plastic door where the sensor is. There is not animal in the world that is going to sit there and move their head around inside the box to try to find the right spot to make it work. So basically, my cat has an expensive window and still has to wait to be let in and outside. The company did not offer to refund me my money or even offer a partial refund, and by the time I jumped through all their hoops to try to make it work, it is now 4 months later, and way to late to even try to return it to Amazon. What a waste of money. Heather Campbell

Almost Perfect!
This is exactly what I have been looking for....a microchip activated cat door. My cats go outdoors and always lose their collars therefore I did not want something that required they be wearing anything. A bonus feature was that you can actually set a "curfew" so that it opens and closes at a certain time in the morning and evening; along with being able to manually lock it once it reads your cat has entered if you so desired. The problem is....the magnet that holds the door is a little too strong! My cats have used many cat doors and are pretty dexterious....but they are having a hard time opening the flap. Therefore - training is slow going and not 100 percent successful at this time. I'm wondering if it will ease up over time (?). But overall....this door is a great idea, the chip reader works incredibly fast, and would be a great buy for a dog I bet.

After multiple calls to tech support it works
Initially I had a dualscan cat flap but it would let only one cat cat back in, it would read both cats leaving the house but only one cat could come back in. I assume in the tunnel the receiver was too weak to activate the RFID chip of the second cat. After returning the cat doorI ordered a pet door which is larger and I was hoping it would help. I got both cats programmed and they were able to enter through the tunnel and the door was opening. When I tried to hook up the hub the ears kept flashing green, the reset button did not work. I ordered a new pet door with hub but kept the old one. The 2nd pet door had the same issue. After talking to sureflap for 2h on the phone they showed me how to force the hub to perform a SW update (hold down the reset button, unplug and plug back in while holding the reset button) initially both ears are red but after SW upgrade they turned solid green. However I was still unable to connect the pet door. I called again and we went through a couple of tests, after that the engineer told me there is something wrong with the rs or rx module in the door. I returned both doors and ordered a new set. Now on my 4th pet door I had to force the hub to update the SW wouldn't do it by itself. I still cannot connect to the pet door. I assume my account has still registered the old hub but there is no option for me to remove the old hub from my account. Unfortunately tech support is not working on the weekends. I'll call again on Monday, hopefully they can resolve this issue for once. When it comes to these issues the users manual and online help a lacking details and are useless. Update: I had to register my hub and door with a new email, there was no way to delete my old account from my side without calling sureflap (their support was not available on weekends) After registering with a new email everything connected and is working now. Now I need to get my cats to push through the door, so far no luck yet. I had it for 2 years now after the initial issues it's working fine. I did install a battery adapter with a power supply to avoid the low battery issue after 4 weeks

Hub does not work.
I wanted this to work so badly!!! My cats have had a regular door for years, but this summer I acquired a stray that likes to come in and have a snack. And spray. Needless, the spraying was a big problem!!! I picked this one because of the larger door for my HUGE Norwegian Forrest cat, and because of the internet connection. There are times when I am away from home and something comes up where my cats should be inside. (storms, I am late coming home, etc) My initial order, the hub would not connect to the internet. I called customer service and Natalie was wonderful and sent me a replacement hub. The second one would connect to the internet, but not to the door., even tho it was only 4 feet away from it. I had intended to try again after work, but when I came home the hub was flashing red and no longer connected to the internet. For $250, even if I did get it to work, I did not trust it, so it had to go back. The door itself works great and I did order the same door without the hub. The "click" when the door opens isn't loud enough to bother the cats, but loud enough so I can hear them come in and out. It is the ONLY one in a larger size. Idk why that is, the other ones are way too small for even a normal size cat. I do wish it allowed to lock one in and let the other one out. Oh, you need a flashlight to be able to read the display panel on the top, but I suppose a lighted panel would drain the battery more.

For the 3 days it worked like it should, it was nice, aside from that, nothing but trouble
The build quality is fine. The range on the hub is not that great. At first it was in the next room about 15 ft away, but had connectivity issues. Had to move it to the same room, still had connectivity issues. Moved it to within 6ft with nothing in the way, and it would still lose communication with the hub multiple times a week. The week I installed it, it would not work because their servers were down. Had to delete and reinstall the app because they came out with an update that made the old one obsolete. I ran through 4 sets of batteries in 3 weeks, all energizer alkaline. The door would shut off and restart multiple times a day. We locked the door every night, but randomly, it would unlock, and we would find our cats happily relaxing on the pool deck before we went to unlock it in the AM. We had to resort to putting tape across the door at night to keep the critters from getting out. I did get it to work right on my phone for about 3 days, but it never worked on my wife's. Both note 8s. I am not a dummy, I have set up on my network: multiple IP cameras, a treat dispensing camera, my pool automation, my AC thermostat, wifi controls for my door locks, multiple phones and computers, printers, routers and tablets, and have never once needed to contact any support. With this product, I emailed them several times, and on the occasions I did get a response, it took at least 2 business days to get a suggestion. This delaying tactic took me to beyond the normal return period, and Amazon wanted to charge me a $50 restocking fee. However, when I went into detail the hassle this product has been, they waived the fee. When the internet drops out, your hub is expected to lose communication with the app, however, mine would lose info from the door and not reconnect. I had to reprogram the door multiple times. Last week, it quit and refused to reconnect. Finally after dealing with it not working for a week straight, and waiting days for response from tech support I finally called it quits. If it worked like it was advertised, it would be great. If this were a $25 door, I would put up with more hassle. However, at $250, the product needs to be more reliable. The chip reader worked well, I do have to give them that, but aside from that, I am not impressed with this product and am sending it back.

A true must have for any pet owner
Besides a couple of small flaws I can’t recommend this product enough. I have two dogs, correction my girlfriend has two dogs, I had two problems I needed a solution for. Looking for a solution to automate and regulate access for both dogs while not allowing in the cat or other animals to enter while we were away, I accepted the challenge and with that started my research. That’s when I stumbled upon the Sureflap door. I needed app controlled and configurable for multiple pets, for that this door blew the doors off. It alerts, logs and allows you to set up a curfew. And battery life of the door is phenomenal! I used brand new Duracell C batteries and as of to date (5 weeks usage) they are still registering as full. The setup was simple and quick, the menus are very intuitive and within less than 20 min I had the door configured and both dogs rf tags added. Training the dogs to use the door was no different than any other dog door, tape it open for a day or two then use food to encourage them to go through it once the door is dropped down. Within 3 days both dogs were familiar and good to go. The only things I would change are below: Need to have multiple curfew periods to allow for more controlled access. Need to have a stronger door material as the larger dog can over power the lock and still go out even when locked. Need to have a way to confirm the pet has actually gone through the door and not just poked their head thru. A dual sensor would help with that as it could detect if the RF chip actually passed through or only passed through one side and then back out. I mention this as it does create quite a few false positives as one of the dogs loves ping her head through the door to look in then backing out. And finally, MAKE A LARGER SIZE DOOR! And yes I’m yelling that as it’s a common request on all the forums. My Italian whippet struggles to get through where of it was just a few inches larger it would be perfect. There’s no reason why this can’t be made into at least 3 different sizes. So with that, in the end I find this product to be an invaluable investment for any pet owner, especially if you ever plan on going away for a day or two. The dogs love the freedom and my girlfriend and me both love the control and data we get. Pair it up with a simple IP cam set to email on motion and you have the ultimate pet door.

Funktioniert tadellos, dank App sehr komfortabel
Top.

Life is easier for both cat and us.
We have only one cat and his Australian micro chip is working fine. Life is much easier with it, for both cat and us. It's been 3 months and Battery didn't drop yet.

Best purchase for our cats 🐈
Love this product! Our cats really seem to enjoy having their own door! It was a little bit lengthy to install the product and get it to work ( we found Metall panels in our door) but their customer service was super helpful and now it works perfectly. They have a few custom modes they don’t tell you about in the user manual but with the slightest doubt or question you can easily contact their service and get answers. I love that I can track our cats through the app on the phone and even set a curfew time, not having to worry about the cats being locked out at night because it’ll still let them in, just not out ( you can of course change the settings and not let them in(?) but why would you) Really happy to be able to sleep at night knowing my cats can come inside even if they decided to go out later that night and not being woken up at 5 am on the weekends because they want to go out. Not to mention not having to open the door 1gizillion times a day!!! Love and truly recommend this product even if it’s a bit on the pricier end it’s really worth putting a little extra towards it.
