This is helping keep my cats off the kitchen counter. They are welcome to go anywhere else in the house, and they do, but I don’t want them on the kitchen counter or kitchen table. For those folks who think this is mean, I have shocked myself with it (accidentally) several times so karma is alive and well in my house. LOL I think it’s a little expensive for what it is. This is long and narrow so it fits well on the countertops, I move it around so they’re never sure where it is.

These are really effective. My dog was always getting on our window sill box and barking at deer on the lawn. He clawed up the wood badly. After getting shocked twice he doesn’t get up there anymore. The cat got shocked too and he was ok. I got shocked several times (twice to test it and then a couple of times by accident). It’s not pleasant but there is no lasting pain. I bought two more to keep the pets away from the Xmas tree and it is working great.

This is a great deterrent, but the batteries do not last as long as I wish they would. Purchased rechargables.

I intended to use this scat mat to deter my cats from getting on the kitchen counters, which all cats do when your back is turned.The mat arrived very quickly with no issues. Upon arrival, I opened the box and found that it did not come with a battery. No big deal since I keep extra at all times.That's the good news.When I installed the battery and tried to turn it on, it beeped and flashed, indicating the brand new battery was low on voltage. I removed the battery, checked it (showing it was good) and replaced it with another new one. Same thing. The mat still would not work.I have tried everything under the sun in an effort to get this mat to just turn on. I had n success at all no matter what I did.I am returning it for full credit.

Update: these go down when we leave the house for work and get loosely folded when we get back home. After 3 months the wires started to pop up. As a result the sensor keeps going off and these no longer work. My husband used hot glue to reapply but that only worked for 1 week. We were able to try our dog in the 3 months it worked. So due to classical conditioning we still put them on the couch even though they don't turn on and he stays off.I would go with a different brand.I have a destructive dog and these mats have been a lifesaver for my couch and cushions.Original ReviewAfter 1x of getting a light shocked both of my dogs learned. Now when I set them up I don't even turn them on. I just set them out and they still don't get on the couch. They are conditioned to know that they don't get on the couch when the mats are up.They are durable, easy to use, battery lasts for a very long time. The length is great, they are narrow but it doesn't impact function of deterring the dogs.

My cat used my vertical blinds as a toy. When she first stepped on it she jumped 2 feet in the air. She tried one more time and hasn’t touched it again. One of her toys landed in it. I had to move it off. She definitely learned quickly.

I have 2 indoor cats that spray on my decor. I found the scat mat to be one of the only ways that I can prevent them from doing this. It’s a great product

After using twice, my toy poodle stopped chilling on sofa. Super effective!

Bought in sep 2021. Used about 2/3 times for sofa then put away as my dog knew not to jump on the couch anymore. Tried using it again today and not working anymore. No static. Unable to set to tone or static. Control not working and mat is not creating static
