Nice big capacity, easy to use
As someone who lives in the South and spends most of my time trying to avoid the outside heat, I am an avid user of toaster ovens so that I don't have to use any more electricity than necessary to cool my home (especially in the summer). This is probably my 5th toaster oven in 10 years (they never seem to hold up to my chronic use). Anyway, I decided to try this toaster oven due to the size and what appeared to be the ease of use, and also the different functions. I have had it for over a month now and I use it daily. This particular oven is the biggest I have ever owned and I am happy with the size - it does fit comfortably on my kitchen counter, but if you have a smaller kitchen it may not work. The functions are pretty standard for this type of toaster oven (although it does have a dehydrate function which I have not seen before and which I have yet to use). I like the fact that the buttons and the knobs are fairly intuitive and pretty much anyone can figure out how to use this toaster oven without deep knowledge of the unit. That being said, there is one thing I do NOT like about this oven and my husband can attest to the stupidity of this: Once the oven is preheated, you must press the 'Start' button again for the timer to start working and for the oven to continue to heat. If you fail to do this, the oven will not heat and you will end up with raw or still frozen food after you thought that the food should be finished cooking. I do not know why Calphalon decided to require that you hit 'Start' again after the oven has pre-heated (rather than just continuing the cook cycle like most other toaster ovens), but it is a pain in the arse if you are not paying attention. Otherwise, the heat settings do work as they are supposed to. I usually cook bacon in my toaster oven and in other toaster ovens usually my settings are at 375 degrees in the bake mode for 15-17 minutes (depending on the unit) to get perfectly brown crisp bacon. In this unit, I can set it for 375 degrees in the bake mode, for 16 minutes and it makes perfectly brown crisp bacon. The oven is easy to clean and I like the fact that there is a tray underneath that I can pull out to clean any drippings or crumbs on the bottom (my last Cuisinart did not have this tray and it was a PITA to clean). Overall, so far this is a very good buy and I am happy with the purchase. It is priced well considering its size and functions. The only question is how long will it last compared to my other toaster ovens.

Awesome Oven, Pretty Decent Toast!!!!!
I read so many reviews before I made this purchase. The Calphalon name had a lot to do with why I considered this above a Ninja or even Emeril's Oven. But lets get down to it:The design is clean and simple, and I love the Dark Slate Grey/Stainless Steel color combinationThe control knobs are an interesting choice, though very responsive they connect to a digital screen, one allows you to navigate the cooking options and the other sets time and temperature. I do wonder how they will hold up over time, but I plan on having this for a minimum of 5 years. I bought my last EuroPro Toaster Oven in 2006...Corona 2020 Killed it (you do the math). The Calphalon heats up pretty quickly, but making toast is proving to be a little more difficult than I expected. There are 7 levels of toasting and Level 3 barely warms frozen toast (I keep my bread in the freezer) and level 7 turns it to charcoal... Sooo....Toast is always an adventure .But cooking!!!! I've done burgers, wings, made a cake, even scalloped potatoes!!!! All turned out amazing. The one issue the other comments have mentioned is the preheat setting. After selecting the cooking mode and time, click start and the oven begins to preheat to get to the desire setting. Once it reaches that temperature IT WILL STOP.SIMPLE FIX!!! Add a couple extra minutes to your cook time, and DOUBLE TAP THE START BUTTON! That's right!!! TAP IT TWICE! This starts the Timer while its preheating and allows the oven to keep cooking.JUST TAP THE START BUTTON TWICE!!!(If this is the only part you read while scanning through reviews)JUST TAP THE START BUTTON TWICE!!!ENJOY!!!

It's pretty good
Wish there was more vertical room within the oven. The temperature is not as precise as I would like; but it's close. For the most part, it's as good as any conventional oven, and most of the time, I adjust the temperature up by about 25 degrees F. But this is common for smaller conventional ovens anyways. It works well. My wife is not tech minded, and she's learned how to use it; that was a major concern for me. It's built very well overall. There are lots to like about this oven; I do wish that it could air fry; but the temperature control is pretty good; the light that turns off by itself, good construction, relative easy to use. Has good door seals.I've had it for about 4 months. We use it a lot for pizza. We also use it for smaller things like a small conventional oven for cakes, corn bread, etc. I would seriously consider buying it again if I needed to. Really good oven for 1 to 2 people that don't want to clean a larger oven.I tried other ovens, some close to this price range; they worked OK'ish at best; some with wild temp swings; haven't experienced that yet with this oven. Other small ovens, I've turned it on, and while set for 375, the temps inside were as far as about 525 to 575; so an oven that is this close and this well built is a blessing. Another oven- melted it's control knobs because its doors lacked seals.Someday, I might luck out and find a better small conventional oven; but until that day, this one will do.

Yes good product
Highly recommend it!

Toasting is poor
Really find the oven exceptional except for the toast setting as the toast was very dry and was not evenly toasted.. If that is not important to you, I highly recommend it.

Excellent Overall Functional Compact Oven
I had not heard of the Calphalon brand until I was searching for a replacement to the recently purchased Toshiba toaster oven we had purchased a few months prior. The ease of use of the oven combined with the size is great - it is also the most even heating toaster oven I have owned.

A great performer so far
I use a toaster oven most of the time to do the same things that I would otherwise use the full oven for. Much more energy efficient and more precise. This one has lots of bells and whistles that so far make it very versatile. I ha e had another Calphalon countertop oven that I have used almost every day for maybe 10 years, so very durable too.
