BioBrites newest product, the SunRise Clock Radio is derived from medical research on light and human behavior. In the early morning, the human biological clock is sensitive to low intensity light. So, waking to a slowly increasing light can result in a smoother, more natural transition to wakefulness. While gently waking with a simulated sunrise, now you can let the 6:52 weather report on the FM radio inform you of a sunny day before you even open your eyes. If youd like to fall asleep with music playing the background, you can program the radio to fade out after a period of time which you can adjust. Other features include the choice of fade up and fade down over 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes; snooze feature; the security feature of random evening lighting; fade to nightlight; a back up audible alarm; your choice of 12 or 24 hour time read-outs; hand made opal glass globe; snooze feature; power failure backup. Also displays the date up to Thursday, December 31, 2099. One year manufacturers warranty.

Don't like the included bulb
Most of the reviews identify the pros and cons of this item, so I wanted to add a different note of something that I have found. The light bulb included is too yellow for me and generates too much heat for me. I just contacted them to find out if there is any other bulb that would work, and will be going to Lowe's to see if there's something else I could get. Other than this problem, I really like it. I think it's easy to set up and use, and even though I only wake up when the radio comes on, my eyes are already adjusted to the light, giving me one less challenge to get up in the morning =) Also makes it less likely I will go back to sleep if I wake up accidentally during the sun up process (which in a normal situation, I find I usually wake up from the alarm feeling much more tired than when I woke up previously, so rather just avoid the whole process, ha ha).

Cheap Does not keep time
I have been an owner for two years, so this is a long term review. Now after changing the time if you do not notice the double dots blinking it is not keeping time. Why does it do this?? They will start after a while, but how long??? You could be sound a sleep then, wake up the next morning 47 minutes late, and not know it...The light works fine, but there are a lot better models out there which have nice mood sounds also. Stay clear away from this product, it is a cheaply made alarm clock, and when you look at it in detail, you can tell they put about 50 cents of material into this. Good luck finding you alarm clock just stay away here....

Great service POOR PRODUCT
This light/alarm clock is way over priced for what it is and the bottom line on the one I received was - it did not work - when I got it the radio was so low at the highest setting that it was almost inaudiable - I did not return it because the radio was not my concern - but the first day that the light did not wake me, I never heard the backup alarm - so I tested it - I can only assume that alarm used the same speaker that the radio did and that it was also so low I could not hear it at ALL!! - I do not like loud alarm clocks but it has to make SOME kind of noice to wake me. POOR all the way around

a lot less SAD
Living in the midwest; winter months with their grey skies, short days, cold temperatures surely affect the overall mood for many and in others a Seasonal Affective Disorder. It was for this reason I decided to search out a light simulation alternative to help with the depression of winter. The BioBrite Sunrise Clock Radio was easy to use, easy to understand. What does not work for me is the radio. My intention was to use this clock radio in the winter months then switch back to my normal clock radio for the rest of the year. Since the radio cannot adequately pick up any my local radio stations, I am forced to keep both systems on my night stand. But that is the only negative. The light simuation sunrise has been amazing in alleviating the SAD symptoms. Immediately I noticed that I was less tired and groggy in the morning than before I began using the light. Now I do not feel like I am in a tunnel until almost noon. And I was surprised how much I have come to enjoy the evening dusk simulation. Normally falling asleep is not a real problem for me but I really do find the dusk simuation to be very relaxing once I turn in for the night. I would highly recommend this product to those who suffer from the winter blues. For me, I thought this would be the better alternative to daily light treatments and I am not disappointed. Improvements were immediate.

Have had one of these alarms for several years and it transformed my life. So much happier waking in the morning (I'm not a morning person!) Now I buy them as gifts.Highly recommend.

Works as expected - but too bright for night stand.
This was a very nice light and I found that a setting of a 20 minute sunrise to be just right. Although I do recommend putting it in the corner of a room and maybe behind something else. It was entirely too bright for my nightstand. When it got up to full strength, I wanted to turn it off because I literally had light halo in my vision - even with my eyes closed. All in all though, a GREAT light for those suffering from a body clock conflicts during fall and winter.

Display quit working
I work nights and this was an experiment to see if this would help me get up and get going in the afternoon. The 'daylight' bulb didn't do much for me and the The display quit working after 3-4 months. I would not buy this again, especially considering the price.

A new way to wake up, always have a back up though!
So in the beginning I wasn't really sure if I'll be using this. But then I got used to it. When I wake up to this I feel like I'm more energetic. Please note, if you don't sleep enough hours this still will not help you!! Also, once I had the blanket over my eyes and didn't wake up, so def. has a back up like its radio feature or maybe your phone alarm. If I need to wake up at 5am and put a 30min sunrise, it starts lighting up at 4:30, I'm a light sleeper so I wake up at around 4:45 when the light is still not even fully on. But that's good, I'm never late! :)
