Superb, the closest yet to a childhood favorite
We've been trying several brands of Garibaldi, looking for one that comes close to the American pressed raisin cookies of my childhood. This one is far and away the best yet of those we've tried. The currants are plentiful and moist, the biscuit is not too dry and has a pleasing hint of sweetness, and the overall flavor is delightful. Perfect with coffee or tea, and a welcome harkening back to those raisin cookies of childhood.

If you live in the U.S., this is the closest to what you are looking for, but still not perfect.
If you grew up in North America and are reading this, you are probably looking for something similar to Sunshine's Golden Fruit Raisin Biscuits that was bought and then discontinued by Keebler in 2001.I have yet to find a cookie similar to that. Sunshine's cookie was made with a lot of raisins. Garibaldi Biscuits are known for being dry and only sparsely filled with currants. Garibaldi, are also, in general, less sweet.I tried the top 3 most popular versions on Amazon. Crawford's, a major UK brand of biscuits, as well as two store brands, Morrisons and Tesco. In a side by side comparison, I keep coming back to Tesco's as the best. It is slightly sweeter with a little more fruit than the rest. It's overall quite enjoyable and only slightly disappointing.Crawford's is the major manufacturer of Garibaldis, and is available in many U.S. supermarkets in their International Food section. They look right, but don't buy them. They are possibly the worst variation I have tried to date. They are barely sweet and always dry and bland with some currants, but nowhere near enough. I've bought them at British specialty stores, supermarket chains and even on Amazon until I learned my lesson.Morrison's isn't bad and takes second place. It's less toasty in color and flavor, is the sparsest on fruit and sweetness, but the underlying biscuit is in fact the tastiest of the three. If you don't want your Garibaldi sweet, this is definitely the one I'd recommend.Again, while I have now bought Tesco's variation more than once, it isn't Sunshine's Biscuit, but it's close enough until something better comes along or I learn to bake my own.

Great taste and moist filling
The filling was moist and flavorful. The biscuit texture and taste was a compliment to the filling sweetness. These were reminiscent of the garibaldi biscuit I enjoyed when I was a child.

This product didn’t seem fresh
Flavor was ok but the biscuit seemed stale

They were good-but not as good I remember for the past.
I would buy these again. They were full of fruit (Currants I think). However, they were a little stale, not soft on the outside like the ones I used to eat when I was younger. But I'd buy them again

ZERO flavor
ZERO flavor. Highly disappointing! Similar in appearance to the Sunshine brand, but any similarities stopped there. Regarding delivery: unlike other reviews I have read on here, my cookies arrived entirely intact. Even though they arrived in a soft pouch and not a box, surprisingly, none were broken. Too bad the cookies were so dull. I wouldn't bother reordering. A little pricey for what you get, too.

Dry. Crumbly. Ick.
These are not the biscuits you might remember. We didn’t finish the ones we received.

A childhood favorite rekindled
Love these biscuits. They remind me of those I ate as a child. Excellent! Not too sweet; they’re perfect with tea.
