The snood from Stern, also referred to as a “moustache band”, is a gauze net that fastens comfortably around the waxed moustache so as to retain its shape during sleep. These nifty devices keep longer moustaches in order overnight, and help train facial hair in the desired style.

No so bad after all....
I was reluctant to buy this because of the reviews. But I did, and I have had no trouble with it. I have found it quite sturdy--the little slides on the cords are for adjusting the length to your own size, and for me they slid quite easily and maintained their position. Sleeping with it on does take a little getting used to. My moustache isn't pretty when I get up in the morning, but the snood serves its function--when it comes time to groom my handlebar, it is a whole lot easier to make the two sides match, which was nearly impossible before if one side had gone all wonky because I had slept on it funny. I'd have given it five stars if it were more comfortable, but I'm not sure more comfort is possible if the snood is to last and serve its purpose. What price beauty?P.S. Right after posting this review, I discovered I had been wearing the snood upside down (Duh!) It is much more comfortable worn with the larger indentation up, around the base of the nose. So--I changed my review to five stars.

The Handlebar Adjuster
Man-up to this authentic, well-made German torture device! Spring clips become lost in a day, encouraging the tying of increasingly tighter knots to prevent slippage and provide the best custom fit -- so all's well... Ample extension of stiff gauze at top and bottom to accommodate and hold most styles (except wagon wheels!). Necessarily uncomfortable, especially over the ears, but the mo' will best get used to it. A brief restless night's sleep (and a long lunch-less break) curled up with a good stiff wax really gives the 'stache a daily what-for -- keeps it in line, pressed into service, standing at attention, and ready for action 24/7. Now I just need one of these in a chinstrap model for the rest of the van dyke!

Meh
It broke after the second use... it was easily fixable, but the spring things used to hold the cables slide right off and are a mother to get back on.

One Star
Save your 30 bucks. This thing broke the first time I tried it.

Trains your handlebar mustache.
I have a handlebar mustache. I’ve always had problems with one side curling outward or pointing forward. After I shower I put in my favorite mustache wax, style as I like, then put on the snood. Not so tight it smashes my face, just enough to hold the handlebars back evenly. I only do this for about 30-45 minutes. I don’t sleep with it or use it for hours. But after a few days my mustache started to look and hold its shape better and better. In a few weeks I started to use it for about 15-20 minutes a day.The small springs that holds the adjust bands together can pull out easily when you want to tighten it, so don’t grab them, grab the ends of the bands to tighten pull and tighten.
