Bamboo 10 Inch Toast Tongs, Yellow

We ordered these tongs for use with our toaster - so that our oldest child could take her toast out of the toaster without burning herself and risking a shock by using a metal utensil The tongs worked perfectly for their intended purpose. Unfortunately, they broke relatively quickly. Our youngest child (1 at the time) picked up the tongs and while attempting to get them settled comfortably in his hand, they broke at the 'hinge' point. I don't know that anyone would expect them to hold up to being stretched/pulled apart, but I was disappointed that an otherwise perfect set of tongs couldn't withstand being stretched by the size of a 1 year old's hand.

i am a lover of the gadget! This one is the best yet. I buy low cal bread and the reason it is low cal is each slice is smaller than regular hi cal bread so even if a toaster has the ability to "lift" the toasted toast higher for your fingers to grab it, fingers still get singed, enter THE TOAST TONGS. Needless to say, these little beauties work to protect your little fingers and prevent using a fork or knife to extract the toast (and risk getting a small shock). I know this sounds a little smarmy but I love these things, some things are run of the mill but these are THE BEST. glad I bought them

Seems to do the trick, OK. But can't give it the full 5 stars because the 2 'sticklets' of these wooden tweezers are each a pinch thicker than a very old 'pair', the main pair, I still have. Thus, the thicker newer ones don't snatch their target quite as easily if that target is in a very confined or slightly obstructed region of, say, a heated chamber. So also requires just a pinch extra 'squeezing' to overcome its pinch more stiffness.

I bought this for my sister who is constantly burning her fingers taking toast out of the toaster (or sticking a metal fork in and I was waiting for a call that she was electrocuted!!). I love mine so I sent this to her. They were an immediate hit (although at first, she called to ask why I had sent her wide chop sticks...LOL). I like these long ones so much, that I am buying more for myself and gifts.

Love them. Easy to grasp English muffins without burning fingers! Had been shopping for them for a long time in the brick & mortars without any luck. So glad I finally checked Amazon.

Do you know how many millions of times I have burnt my fingers getting toast out of the toaster? Just about every time. These bamboo tongs are perfect! I keep them in a crock next to the toaster, ready to save my fingertips from a scorching. I would recommend these to anyone who makes toast ... ever! After all, the price is right too.

Whoever designed the shape of these tongs has never used any.They are a good size and sturdy.But the the ends are way fat and stubby. It's like trying to use your fingers for a job that requires tweezers.HOWEVER, that's easily enough fixed if you have a disc sander.I ground down the outer edges of the business ends to a much thinner shape, and now they work great.The original design, what you receive, only gets 3 stars, maybe 2, but, with my quick and easy mod, they now get 5.

Whenever I visit my Mom for the Holidays and she uses her toaster, she turns it upside down and dumps the toast (and crumbs) all over the counter. Then cleans the counter. I told her she needed a new toaster that had a lifter built in but she likes her toaster.Viola. Toaster tongs.It's a whole new world.
