GREAT
I use this bowl all the time. Its perfect for anything that needs to steep in its own heat. Plus the top bowl can be used as a serving surface.

Did not come with a lid
I paid $20 for a bowl that did not come with a lid. So disappointing and waste of money.

Good looking bowl, but....
First of all, this bowl is nice looking and arrived well-cushioned and in good shape. However, there are a couple of problems. First and the most irritating, the shape of the lid "handle" is far too shallow and inclined too much, making it nearly impossible to smoothly lift the lid from the bowl. Your fingers just slip off. I have large hands and strong fingers, and there isn't any way to get a good grip on the lid. I will say this is my first pottery bowl as opposed to the plastic ones, so maybe they just vary in shape, but if you get one like mine be aware your guests will not easily lift off the lid, and it's highly likely to slip and get broken.Second is that while the bowl is advertised at 27.3 ounces, there's really only about 16 oz. usable for soup. Fill it fuller, and you'll have the lid swimming in the soup , and of course, it will be close to impossible to move without spilling. If these two things don't bother you, it's a nice, although expensive, bowl.

Pretty little bowl.... but....
The shape of the lid "top" is not made for lifting on and off. Pottery is not light plasticy material. It's heavy, so you have to have a firm grasp. If your fingers are slightly greasy or wet, it's impossible to lift off the lid without dropping it. Which is exactly what I did, the very first time I used it. My lid is now glued together and not nearly as pretty as it was. :( I remedied the situation by gluing a decorative drawer knob on the top... wish I had thought of that BEFORE I broke my cute little pot!

Excellent bowl
This is a really nice bowl. Besides being really unique looking, it functions as a bowl/cover or two separate bowls, (think stir fry/rice). You could also use cover as a base to bowl for soup/crackers.

lovely piece, difficult to handle
I like the piece overall, but the even with the "guide" I found handling the lid awkward. I wish the ridge you're supposed to handle was more flared out so it'd be easier to grip.
