Don't buy this printer
I NEVER LEAVE BAD REVIEWS UNLESS A PRODUCT HAS SINCERELY EARNED IT!First of all ... the reviews on this page are NOT for this printer ... I dont know what these reviews are for but they arent for a 3d printer, so the star rating on this printer is misleading.Let me start out by saying that I've been in IT professionally for over 25 years and Ive been learning computers since 1982 ... Im a certified electronic technician, and I have a bachelor degree in computer science ... so I'm no slouch in the technical department ... and I have experience with 3D printers in general...First MAJOR problem with this printer is I could NOT get it to read an SD card to save my life. I tried cards that I had formatted and have been using on other printers ... I tried formatting with FAT, FAT32 and even NTFS.... I used DISKPART as well as the Microsoft GUI disk utility to format the cards and they simply would not read... so I did connect the printer to my Macbook Pro directly and I was able to get a print from the Makerbot Print software, but the quality was horrid and the raft did not even break clean off the print ... I tried both OctoPrint and Astroprint with my raspberry Pi but neither OS would see the printer over the USB connection and supposedly this thing is just a Makerbot 2 but I've had no luck with this thing getting it to print beyond that first crappy print that I managed to make. There is a small fan mounted by the stepper drivers, but its cockeyed and its noisy as all heck I had to dampen the vibration with some strategically placed hot glue - which I chose for its rubbery quality once it cools.I am ordering the Flashforge Finder to replace this one cause its only like $40 more and the reviews are stellar ... and I have experience with that brand and their slicer software is really nice ...So back to Amazon with this crappy printer ... its a bummer because I was really hoping this printer would perform Ive tried contacting the company through their web site, and they never got back to me ... its been two weeks now.ALSO, I did not get a manual nor did I get an SD card ... they did send a CD ... but I havent owned a CD drive in 7 years now ... so Im not sure what they expected me to do with that CD ... and their web site is horribly organized with no clear understanding of which PDF file pertained to this printer, so I just downloaded all of the ones that looked close and then figured it out, but they have no software to install and no instructions in the manual or on their web site indicating which software would be best to use for this printer ...All in all ... if I could give this a negative star, id be all over it!

Solid product
This filament has worked great for both practical parts and hobby printing. The figures come out great and have had no structural damage. The supports can at times be a bit hard to remove but they really don't fail in any capacity. Another plus side is that the filament does not create much of an odor so if you don't have an enclosed printer you don't have to worry too much about stinking up the whole room.I used a modified Lulzbot Taz printing at a temperature of 205c extruder temp and 60c bed temperature. The filament worked pretty well and didn't jam a single time. The extruder did not struggle to push it through and no clogs or jams were created. Most importantly, no knots..I even ran prints for over 10 hours and nothing. I didn't have to remove filament a single time to re-insert it into the printer. The package came vacuum sealed in a well fitted box which I also appreciated since I live in Florida and humidity can often damage filament rolls. Overall, the filament worked really well with all the projects I had. Most important of all, it was easy to work with for post processing. It reacted properly to a variety of chemicals which allowed me to smooth out the prints more (check out the gray spray painted model). Highly recommended.

A must-have upgrade!
After struggling for weeks with uneven bed leveling on a new Prusa Acrylic kit I decided to give this a try. The difference is OUTSTANDING!Auto-leveling results with the original acrylic bed always reported a warping/bowing of about 0.5-0.8 mm, and I could not get a good first layer even using bi-linear compensation. With this aluminum frame there is NO more warping, and the BL Touch (which is another must have) now reports less than .1 mm of difference between corners, and no bowing at all!Could not be more satisfied!

Excellent replacement for OEM stock
This has been a very good investment for my Hictop 3DP-17. So far, my prints have had a much better first layer than with the stock carriage plate, as it was starting to warp after 6 months. Since I have a high aptitude for mechanical design, I was able to quickly mount it in the optimal direction for my printer so that it would clear the Y stepper motor. I also had to adjust the Y bed rails by ~1.5mm to get the bearings to line up, but I won't ding the review for that.

Great Budget Filament
I printed with this filament for a few different medium sized prints and was thoroughly impressed with the quality and consistency of the filament. I have not finished the entire spool, so I cannot speak to how it's wound, but so far, I have not encountered any tangles. The color of the filament is vibrant, and for a PLA filament, it seemed to be pretty sturdy. Worked great through my MakerBot with a Smart Extruder+.

the blue came out just as fine and very vibrant
After testing out some of the other colors, the blue came out just as fine and very vibrant. Small and big pieces alike can be captured with lots of detail. I ran both prints from the images at the same settings (normal microns, not too fast of a extruding speed) and it came out looking sharp. After 30 hours of printing, I haven't had a single clog yet and my favorite part is the actual color itself. It just really stands out and it's hard for images to do it justice.Overall, great filament and very reliable for large prints over 7 inches or just tiny 3 inch prints.

Missing parts, poorly assembled
It was missing the SD card and screws to attach the extruder. Most of the screws holding it together needed tightening. The filament sent with it was crap. The extruders themselves were not level with each other and needed adjusting. The USB cable supplied was wrong. The firmware needed an upgrade. Puts off an acrid smell idle, worse when printing. Expect to spend 3-4 hours getting missing parts, fixing manufacturing defects, and updating firmware. Prepare to print, buy and install many upgrades before having decent print quality. This should be priced more in the $150-$200 range for what you get.
