S6900 Reported Wrong Truck Speed
For those of you unhappy with this product because while driving it shows wrong speed limit for the road you're on it's because you haven't set it up.I can't believe there are people who buy tech and don't poke around in the settings even if just to see what's in there.Anyhoo, touch main screen, then tap configure, then tap setup.Once there you'll see title tabs for many settings on the left which you can configure to your needs. Use up & down arrows on right to go to next page or previous page.Keep tapping down arrow until you see My Speed. Tap that and you'll see a screen like the one in the picture I've posted.Just tap the class of vehicle you're driving and Bob's you're auntie. Now the speed will be correct for your particular vehicle. For other how to's go to the snooper Web site and download the instruction manual. All the manuals for all their products can be found there. As for the speaker, yes it's poor but not unuseable. This is my 4th snooper and in my opinion they are top dog in not getting lost.EDIT. I have just read one reviewer that Snooper customer services is rubbish. He admits he is not computer literate and had difficulties downloading an update. Firstly, every time I have had the need to contact their support services they have been very helpful. For map updates you have to go to the Snooper web site, download their map updater software. Once it's on your computer, open up the updater and follow the on screen instructions and before you can say supercalafajalisticexpiallidotious your Truckmate maps are updated providing there is an update for your machine. As a rough guide they put out map updates twice a year. If you require speed camera updates you will have to pay a yearly subscription for those. Speed cameras can be updated as many times during the year as you like, no limit. While that is true, I strongly advise against it because as we all know the more times you format or write to an SD Card the shorter its life will become.Like I've said, this is my 4th Truckmate since 2006, so they can't be all that bad and my old DB8500 is still going strong which I still use as a back up if by some small chance my S6810 ever stopped working. I has done a couple of times where the software on the SD Card had become corrupted but Snooper Support sorted things out PDQ by sending me out a replacement card for the princely sum of £5.00.We all know electronics with software is susceptible to the odd glitch.I would recommend Truckmate whole heartedly over the other brands every time. That's an opinion, my opinion, I'm not saying I'm right, different strokes for different folks but for me personally, they serve me well and I love 'em.Happy driving people 😎👍✌️🇬🇧

Truck nav
This is the second one that I've had in under a year the first one packed up and would turn on. This one has to be manually reset as the touch screen doesn't work after an hour or so of use and repeats this all the time.I've used Snooper for 15 years and they seem to have a finite life of about 4 years on average. Apart from that the product is extremely good all though if in central London it doesn't under the time parameters or fors/tfl regulations and quite often due to the high buildings looses coordination and tends to think your about 100 metres to your right and had a meltdown

Clear Display
Good size and clear display. The magnetic holder makes it much easier to take in and out and is really secure.

Not completely up to date, has some odd quirks
Generally it's good, updates on traffic ahead and has good maps, but.... Not all new roads/junctions are on the database, it seems pretty prone to directing you throug towns and narrow streets when a clearer, more HGV suitable route is available and, it's annoying quirks can be distracting. Exiting motorway with two slip lanes for example, will tell you to Keep right (lane two) then will tell you to 'take next exit' as you hit the entry lane, also, the screen will go to full screen picture of a generic exit and arrow, so you then can't see a graffic representation of the actual juntion you are on. If you are on a multiple option area (spaghetti junction for example) You are not able to 'see' the info on where you need to be. I bought this as the higher rated/known brands were not in stock, I am happy with it now, after three months use, but it's taken longer to get to grips with than it should really. Also shows You speed limits on screen, but always shows the speed for cars, 70 on Motorway, 60 on national speed limit road etc, not the speed limit for the type of vehicle you have it set as (18tonne Rigid for example).

Simple truck sat nav
Not bad navigation, simple, basic but easy to use. Don’t waste your money with this model for the built in dash cam, it’s poor, low res and struggle with anything other than perfect light.

No live traffic as advertised
Advertised as having live traffic , in fact it doesn’t in any way and didn’t pick up two closed roads
