I have 16" OC ceiling joist, can the mounting be adjusted to fall on a 16" joist (32" or 48") ?

They are 43" apart. I am going to make a recommendation to start having them produced at 48" because that would be standard.

How far is the drop from the bracket down to the bar in both positions?

I get it’s an old question but in farther position it’s not 18. The end brackets are 18 inch in height/length from the ceiling so the bar in a drop down position will be 24 in from the ceiling.

How far apart are the grips, end to end?

The two end handles are 27" apart from each other.
