Much better than the 15 year old three headed Norelco I've been using. This shaver doesn't need to be pressed into the skin with alot pressure to achieve a close shave as some negative reviewers obviously did, it's just a matter of technique and understanding the way your own beard hairs grow. I'm still getting used to the trimmer as this Braun is heavier and weighted differently than the old Norelco.
