You get what you pay for
Very simple to use. These are not high quality, but help teach kids how to use a compass. I purchased 35 of these. One did come broken, but that is fine. I contacted customer service and the let me know that if I wished, I could have that one compass replaced at no cost, but I decided not to replace it. It was not worth my time.Pros:- Works as a compass- Liquid filled which allows better orienteering- Light Weight-Comes with stringCons:- Cheaply made- May fall apart

Needle was frozen but now working.
Arrived broken. It looks nice, but if the needle doesn't move, doesn't make much of a compass.Updated: The needle was frozen. I tapped it VERY hard on a granite counter about 5 times...nothing. I then got a magnetized screwdriver and "lifted" the needle. It now seems to be working.

A cheap compass for a low price - OK

Wish it were better. I'd pass on this one.
Not a great compass for serious navigation. The compass bezel only has degree increments listed every five degrees. That gives a lot of error when a degree or two can send a person way off course when using a compass for navigating long distances. There are also no luminescent parts so this compass is also not that good for night time navigation. I bought a Suunto A-30 which is much better for only a few dollars more.

Confused and not happy.
I bought this at Walmart just to learn. Was it suppose to come apart?The black park where the increments are noted just came off and then the actual piece where the pointer is came out.Im returning it.

Horrible product
this is NOT a liquid-filled compass. The build quality is weak and cheap. This will not last, spend a little more and get some half-decent. This is only good for maybe a prop in a film where you don't need a usable compass.
