Very Small. Very Neat.
I'm kinda in love with this, I just wish there were about 10 times as many parts in the kit.Beam size reminds me of the square girders from the old AC Gilbert Erector sets, except the mounting is more flexible.Really wish the basic kit came with the Tee Nuts -- but after this project I'll probably just 3d print some polycarbonate reproductions. If you want to make something small, this is the size of t-slot for you.If you want to make something more than 300mm long -- or that's going to withstand strong forces -- get something bigger.

Its very versatile and relatively easy to use
I am very impressed with this 10x10mm aluminum T slot framing set.Its very versatile and relatively easy to use. Some fiddling around is required until you get the hang of it.But that’s to be expected when working with beams and bolts that small. That’s nothing against MakerBeam, just something you have to get used too.In the week or so i have had it, i have made 2 things already with plenty of beams to spare for more projects.I have added pictures of a solder/wire rack i made and a rolling cutter for film and photographic paper. The few things i can ding MakerBeam on are things that really should have been included in the starter kit.I have placed links to the items that a new user should definitely pick up, but again they really should have been included. Makerbeam M3 Bolts with Square Head, 12mm 100 pcs and 25mm 25pcs Makerbeam Openbeam T Bracket (Pack of 12pcs) MakerBeam straight brackets (pack of 12) MakerBeam 25 pieces T-slot nuts inc screws MakerBeam Corner Cube Black 12 pcs MakerBeam Vinyl End Caps, Black ( Pack of 8) Also the case is cute but not really practical. Once you unwrap all of the beams, you need a degree in Tetris to get it close again.Im pretty good at Tetris and i couldn’t do it so everything went into a plastic box. Much better way to store it if you ask me.A few things to note, the ends of the beams are a little sharp. They look slightly de-burred but not enough to take the sharp edge off. They really should have included the vinyl end caps or the corner cubes. It’s a small thing but it would have been nice. The ends of the beams are threaded which is great. But there is no real way to get them to align.See the picks of the solder/wire holder. None of the horizontal arms could possibly line up with the vertical ones. Its more of a good place to attach things too but not really useful if you need the beams to line up. I didn’t so its not a problem. They also don't include an Allen key for the 3mm bolts. But if you buy the T nuts or the bearing kit, its included. The MakerBeam Bearings, bolts and (self locking) nuts (pack of 10) is a pretty neat way to add rolling capability to the Beams. It works really well and I'm happy with it on my rolling cutter design.Another thing to note is that MakerBeam offers the beams separately here on Amazon.I found sizes up to MakerBeam 1500mm beam black anodised (pack of 2) , which is pretty neat!I can think of a few projects that could use beams that size. Plus the price is pretty good for those. All in all i am very happy with the purchase. While the kit is pretty expensive, i cant think of another way to accomplish what i need without it.

Wonderful, well made and complete starter kit
This is really a well engineered system. All the pieces fit well with one another and form neat, strong frames for electronics or other forms of kits. I'm using it to build a free form PC case with three interconnected 'cubes', one for the CPU/GPU/PSU (seperated) and then a frame above for two liquid radiators and a frame below to let cables come in and provide air intake (board mounted with connections facing down so cables are hidden and accessible from front or rear 'floor' of case. A 300mm square (300x300) on top of a 150x300 rectangle with a 150x300 rectangle above that are the three cubes I've made with various sub frames to hold components. I needed more parts than just his kit, but as a starter kit it was perfect and provided me with all the staring parts to which I then added to replace parts used from from this 'base' kit.Lots of fun to work with and I'e ordered more to build out the kit further and simply just to have on hand for other projects. A great well made system, highly recommend. If you plan on working with MakerBeams, get this starter kit to introduce yourself and have available a solid base set of pieces parts.

Quality prototyping material, endless fun!
If you liked Lego as a kid (or even if you're still a kid) this stuff is amazing! Most hardware stores' building supplies are usually quite large and unwieldy. When you want to build something small there aren't many good options. This is where MakerBeam comes in handy. It's simple, small, and strong. The possibilities are endless.Whether it's a small bracket to support something, or a larger structure, MakerBeam is up to the challenge.Making things has become a bit of a lost art in today's abundance of disposable consumer products. I find it very fulfilling to make things and be able to do it easily. I often would resort to using Lego, or Erector, but they aren't able to handle heavier structural loads. The aluminum and stainless steel brackets are very good quality. Although it's so much fun, it's not a disposable toy. It's the real deal.Go for it, you will be very pleased with MakerBeam!Update April 2022: Still loving these kits. I've continued to grow my collection of Makerbeam and have built multiple computer cases, structural supports for various electronics, and even stands for microphones. Highly recommend!!!

Works well together, may have come with a few scratches
Works really well together, hoping to build my own sff PC case, and it all works well together. I'm not sure if the voting was already scratched when I got it or if it's just very easy to scratch and it happened while I was opening the plastic wrap around the pieces, still great though

Excellent building material for cases, enclosures, projects.
If you're wanting to build a chassis or case, and wish that sturdy erector sets were your thing, ta da! MakerBeam. There's also nano-beam for smaller projects and makerbeam XL for larger ones. goes together easily, though the big help is if you *plan* all your setup first, as taking things apart to add things can be frustrating.

Everything in good shape
So it seems that some of the other reviewers said that their set came with stuff missing or the case was broken, but for me, nothing seemed broken. The case was in good condition, and I have all the stuff that was described in the description.
