Fine Mesh, Excellent Product
This is replacing the same net we had before, only with a finer mesh. The coarser mesh was a little easier to use because it moves through the water better and is more tolerant to stopping and slowing down. This one, though, catches more material of the finer/siltier nature. I'f you're only scooping leaves, then you might want to go with the less-fine model. But this works extremely well for the purpose and is very well made.

Not what I expected
I had another Purity pool net. After two seasons the net tore. I bought this one. I suppose it is intentional, but the net holes are too fine. It is hard to pick up debris because the water does not easily flow through the net. The debris goes around the net rather than in. I don’t use this and consider it a waste of money.I did like the model I had before but not this one.

This is it the best there is on the market. I buy only from this brand. My pool 49 years old.
This is it the best there is on the market. I buy only this brand. My pool 49 years old and I am almost 76. So I have been through many before finding this brand. I have tiny leaves or bugs, or flowers that drop into pool all year long and this tiny woven white mesh catches all the surface small bits. Trust me, after many many years of looking when I found this mesh net by" Purity Pool PCSLT Pelican Featherweight 16-Inch Residential Leaf Rake, Silt Model" it usually last me 5 years. I do recommended after use to rinse with regular water to keep it from the harsh chemicals in pool then it should last 6-7 years. kEEP IN SHADE from harsh CA sun. Another suggestion is whenever it is close to needing a new one, buy before you need it. Always buy on sale. Made in USA. JUST another old women's wisdom.

Love this pool net because it is ultra fine
I absolutely love this pool net because it is ultra fine and catches all the little things that make their way into my pool that the other larger holed nets miss. I have a huge ant nest that moves around my back yard and invariably, every time it rains, the ants wash into the pool. They all attach to each other and make a big "ant raft" that you would think would make it easy to scoop with a regular net. But the problem is they break apart when scooped and fall through the holes of the traditional net. Now that I have the Purity Pool Pelican Featherweight Pool Net I scoop the ants and the rafts out with ease. This is really great because now I get them out before they go and clog up my pool filter. What's great is this net has a strong edge that I can use to scoop stuff off the bottom of my pool. Again, it gets the little stuff, so if there is dirt or small leaves and debris, this net gets it all. Is very easy to rinse out and made of good quality material. I strongly recommend this to anyone who wants to be sure they can get every little thing out of their pool so it can be clean and sparkly for all to enjoy. It saves alot of cleaning of the filter and preserves your filter from getting clogged by fine debris. Of course it works great on the big stuff too. Nice heavy duty design. Definitely a keeper!

Great quality, mesh is more fine than I needed
Very good quality build, net is attached in a manner that appears to be very strong and should avoid coming loose with normal usage. One thing to be aware of... this is a very fine mesh. I should have paid more attention to description, as I didn't realize how different the mesh can vary. I need a rake primarily to skim across the surface collecting floating leaves and pine needles. With the fine mesh, it drags more than previous rake (i.e. water doesn't flow as easily through the fine mesh). This slows down the leaf collection and requires more effort to push/pull through the water. Also, if I stop the rake, debris tens to float out of the mesh, so I have to keep it moving more than previous rake. One added benefit of finer mesh is when I occasionally slide rake on bottom of pool to pick up debris that sank to bottom, it collects more of the dirt than rake with more coarse mesh. Also, the leading lip of rake helps keep rake against bottom of pool when collecting debris on bottom.Just be aware of what you need... if don't need fine mesh and primarily skim surface, maybe look for different product, as the water flow is less than with coarser mesh... if you collect fine debris on bottom often, this works great.

the super tight mesh of this rake is key
This is a review of product over a solid year of use. Having used standard leaf rakes in the past, the super tight mesh of this rake is key. The ability of this net to both glide completely submerged and capture copius amounts of particulate matter in stride while maintaining adequate skim velocity full clip, is phenomenal. This net exemplifies efficiency by filtering the finest material. Sand, dirt, sediment, fine particles, leaves, bugs and pine cone needles are swept into the ~14 inch hopper with force. The strong aluminum sub-frame is wrapped in yellow polymer, formed with a lip designed to ramp contaminants directly into the hopper. Over one year of use, deployed from spring to spring (spring pollen, sand, silt, insects, grit, grime, algae, winter tarp grossness, all manner of tiny organic material) this skimmer has gone above and beyond the call of duty. It is strong and can be forced through the water with ample walking velocity. Not to be confused with more course nets that allow low effort moving through water, this net instead trades high speed for the small details. Those pesky particles your standard net simple stirs up, this net will capture securely. As for durability, this net has been out in the elements for just over a year (need net out over winter in KY to keep pool cover clean) and has entertained temperatures ranging from -5°F - 97°F.Buy this if you want a skimmer that will strain out polin sized contaminants for years to come.

Light weight, sturdy, fine mesh.
I bought this because I have owned one before. After 4 1/2 years the mesh started to rip. I wasn't prepared to pay $44 as I had paid $26 on the original so I bought a different brand with a fine mesh which I thought would be a great replacement and was cheaper. Big mistake..it was so heavy when wet and really hard to maneuver under water that I had to replace it. When I got this one it was like night and day...as the ad says, it is featherweight in comparison and the price had been reduced to $39 so it was well worth it.
