Amazon described this as a returned product having minor scratches. It arrived in a torn-apart stuffed paper bag with no padding or cardboard box. The motor fan housing was crushed and mis-aligned making it completely non functional. Fortunately, the original manufacturer was very helpful in allowing me to buy replacement parts and troubleshoot the fan housing. The good news is that it was significantly discounted from Amazon and I still saved a few bucks over a new one.

As a home brewer I purchased this pump to replace a similar one from an older Sabco Brew Magic RIMS systems. Sabco no longer carries the original pump for my older system but pointed their customers to a "better" one for $220. After checking around I found this one for significantly less money than the one recommended but with the same temperature tolerance, same stainless steel housing, slightly more HP, etc. The positioning of the input and output fixtures was slightly different and one fixture needed an adapter for sizing so it took a bit of hacking to the bottom of the control box as well as some plumbing and electrical work but Sabco warned of the same for the pump they recommended. Disappointed with Sabco but after 4 months use I'm delighted with this pump.

Normally I have good results with Chugger pumps. The first one was DOA, & the the replacement worked but had loud motor noise. Wondering if these are refurbished? Returned again & bought for another vender. See if I have better luck.
