good book, slightly out of date
Good book for sailors looking to improve. It's a 2005 edition (no update since then?) so watch out for rules that are slightly out of date (e.g. page 162 refers to rule 17.2 in an example where a windward boat must not sail below its proper course -- rule 17 no longer constrains a windward boat). But that's a very minor complaint.

Still a great source for all racers
This is still my favorite source of racing strategy and tactics advice. I've given it to several of my high school and college racers.

Very good explanations on some basic and complex situations
I've read this book a couple times. And will continue to use it every winter to get ready for the season. Very good explanations on some basic and complex situations. Would have given 5 stars except a bit too much reach mark stuff. We haven't done that in 20 years.

Good book to furthers one ...
Good book to furthers one sailing techniques. Informative on the understanding of true sailboat racing. Best to have racing history before attempting this book writing. Not for beginners or those with limited experience.

A classic, and rightly so!
This is a great readable overview of tips and tricks to be a better sailboat racer. More a collection of tips and tricks than a bunch of racing stories (like a lot of the competition), occasionally technical but nowhere near as encyclopedic, deep, and forbidding as Bethwaite. Highly recommended to all racers.
