The Closer: Season 4

This was such a great TV series. Not sure why Kyra Sedgwick left the show, but the replacement series "Major Crimes" just was not the same and did not last long. I now own all seven seasons of "The Closer" and these shows are my first "go to" when nothing is on TV worth watching....which is most of the time. All the actors in this show deliver their own unique humor and/or drama to the series. The show is a balance of everything a TV show should be for family entertainment. Another great series on TNT was "King and Maxwell", which only lasted one season before not being renewed. Don't understand that one either as it was canceled before most people had a chance to discover it. Also great characters in that show including Jon Tenney who also played Kyra Sedgwick's husband in "The Closer". He was fantastic in both series.

One of the best shows ever 2 make an appearance on American TV. Realism, character development way past the 2 dimensional, plot twists u don't c coming, episodes that make u cry, & episodes that make u laugh. A deeply flawed protagonist who always gives her all n her tunnel vision search 4 justice, ignoring politics, orders frm superiors 2 bk off & potential bad press. How could u not cheer 4 such an unsullied seeker 2 close the case & bring ea murderer detected 2 justice by obtaining a confession, negating the need 4 an uncertain & expensive trail ? What's there not 2 like ? Haven't seen an episode yet that wasn't hi quality entertainment !!! If only I could give it 6 stars...

This series seems to get better and better..It has the right amount of pathos thrown in with the blackest of comedies. Brenda and her team face a tough season, as they are asked to allow a reporter to tag along, who along the way manages to throw a spanner in the works of the Proirity Homicide unit. Not only this, but a memeber of the team also has to deal with a personal loss, and with all that going on Brenda and Fitz are about to tie the knot. The dvd extra's are a bit dissapointing, as there aren't any interviews with the cast and only a few behind the scenes and a funny gag reel..but having said this it's worth buying..trust me you won't be dissapointed.. and in the word of Brenda Lee Johnson 'thank you..thank you very much'!

The Closer has become one of the best and most watched programs on television. I was hooked on the first season. Each season has been exciting and well-produced. In the end of this season, Brenda and Fritz finally get married and like all of this series, things are complicated. But, all's well that ends well and I am looking forward to the new season with them together as man and wife. I saw a preview in TV Guide showing Brenda holding a baby kitten. This, I am sure, is a replacement for "Kitty" in the scene where Brenda had to say a final goodby to the cat she had grown to love. It was a very touching scene. I say, Hurry with the new season.

The show is fully developed by Season 4 so it's more about the individual episodes and their content. The 3rd episode in this season deals with rape and suicide and is profoundly sad but in the end Brenda gets the perpetrator and it's so satisfying to watch.

The Closer is a show that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Kyra Sedwick is amazing. Her character Deputy chief Brenda Lee Johnson will have you in awe at the way she powerfully closes her case and in the next few minutes she is a weeping and emotional wreck at home. This series shows a head-strong determined WOMAN at work and let's other women know it is okay to let go and have a melt down if need be but probably not a work. I have order every season and have fallen in love with each character. The cast is awesome and will keep you in stitches.

Finished #4 last night and agree with other reviewers they have really stepped up the writing. The Gabriel and Daniels problems showcased why it is not good to have romance in the workplace. And of course Brenda already knows this from experience!!! But it is very well written, Kyra at times seems to try Fritz's patience a little too much, but then we all have at times done this to our mates, this gives it that real human feeling on this show. You feel like you are sitting in the squad room observing! Can't wait to get started on #5!!! Come back fro the review and go on buy them, it is worth it or borrow your friend's you'll love it!!!

das ist Brend Leigh Johnson und ihre Mitarbeiter, verschiedener ethnischer Hintergünde und verschiedenen Alters, wobei aber die jungen Hüpfer eher die Minderheit sind, wenn man die jüngeren Mitarbeiter überhaupt noch so betiteln kann. Brenda ist eine exzentrische Ermittlerin des Mayor Crime Teams, ist gut behütet von ihrem grimmig wirkenden, sie aber über alles liebende Vater und ihrer ein wenig gluckigen Mutter und das weit weg von L.A. wo sie schon mit dem Strassenverkehr überfordert scheint. Und Schokolade ist ihre absolute Archillesferse und natürlich ihr Dickkopf alles so zu biegen, dass es ihr passt und die Vorschriften sind halt nur für andere, aber doch nicht für ihre immer vorrangigen Fälle.... no no!^^ In der 4. Staffel kennt man die verschiedenen Charaktäre ja eigentlich schon und auch die kleinen internen Kämpfe, die zwischen dem Vorgesetzten, der zu Einsparungen anhält, wovon Brenda sowieso nichts wissen will und einen ihrer Mitarbeiter wegzurationieren, ist ihr Ding sowieso nicht. Auch die Beziehung zu ihrem FBI-Mitarbeiter-Verlobten, was so ziemlich auch die Beziehungsreihenfolge darstellt, ist bekannt. Monsieur versucht sich immer ein wenig durchzusetzen... leidlich. Eine oft witzige, dennoch toughe Krimi Serie und auch mal schön, dass eine Frau ein ganzes Team leitet, so WIE sie es leitet. Natürlich gibt es mittlerweile viele Frauen in Krimiserien, aber kaum eine ist wie Brenda Leigh! Sie schließt die Fälle ab, scheint eigentlich alles im Griff zu haben, um dann doch den bitteren Geschmack des Elends mit Schokolade oder Muffins runter zu schlucken... die sie aber aus gesundheitlichen Gründen auch meiden soll. Zudem hat sie einen Kater, der eigentlich eine Katze ist und die dann unerwartet schwanger ist... ich hoffe da bin ich jetzt in der richtigen Staffel.^^ Man kann sie halt gut hinternander weg schauen, wenn mal nichts im TV geboten ist, oder man einen Closerabend machen möchte.

コロナ渦で自宅にこもる中、ブレンダに会いたくなって全シーズン観ています。家事をしながらずっと観てますが、何度観ても飽きないです。 いつかブレンダが好きなチョコレートケーキも買って食べたい！中学生の子供も大ファンです！

Que en Alemania valoren el audio castellano, además de seguir comercializando la serie. España es un desastre.

As with previous seasons, this one is just as good or better. The storylines maintain their uniqueness and the combination of suspense and humour make it fun to rewatch episodes. The only part of the show I don't like is the irritating way Chief Johnson treats her FBI husband. Why he stays married to her is beyond me. Keep out the drama in their private life and the rest is fantastic.

I first caught on to this series a few years ago in America, sitting in a hotel flicking round the tv channels, and have been hooked ever since. Kyra Sedgwick is fantastic, her character swings from scatty and vulnerable to hard as nails in a flash, keeping colleagues and villans on their toes. In woman lead police dramas there is a tendency to let home background dominate and drag the ploice side down (that's what spoiled Cagney & Lacey for me), but as with Cold Case, you know it's there, you know why it's there, but it doesn't dominate. Like any series though, good as your star is, the supporting cast must be as good, and they are, G W Bailey especially in the lighter stories - and there's a corker in this series. In a way, you could compare this to Columbo - there's no great gun battles or car chases, it relies on evidence & deduction. Why though, it's tucked away on one of the lesser TV channels over here, I'll never know.
