Beautiful, sweet, fragrant osmanthus, oh how I do love thee........
Fresh, fragrant, beautiful whole petals! High quality osmanthus. Osmanthus tea can be quite bitter if you over steep it. Be sure to steep for no more than a few minutes to avoid bitter tea. My brother loves tea. He's not a fan of floral teas. But when he was here for dinner the other night I made him a mug of osmanthus and chamomile. He loved it. Just a tad of honey and a dash of milk and you have a relaxing, sweet, bedtime elixir! I love the fragrance of osmanthus, but the absolute is very expensive and hard to find. Because it's my favorite fragrance and I can't live without it (and I can't afford the absolute at the rate I use it), so I tincture the flowers in all kinds of solvents and have also distilled hydrosols. I've found that argan oil and jojoba oil is best for making a fragrant oil for use in my homemade creams and lotions. The scent of coconut oil totally covers the scent, so I won't be using it again. I also tincture the flowers in 190 proof grain alcohol. Which in my opinion is the best way to extract the fragrance. I have not tried vegetable glycerin yet, but that's next on my list. I've also made hydrosol in my 3 liter copper still. I used chamomile flowers, yarrow leaf and flower, and osmanthus flower petals. The three fragrances together are a mind blowing sweet, floral fragrance. The osmanthus comes through the most in my opinion. I use the hydrosol for many things, as a sheet spray, mixed in my daughters castile soap and even for soap making!

Horrible Osmanthus Tea
This osmanthus tea had a terrible fragrance instead of the light flower-like osmanthus that I'm used to. When I made the tea it tasted as though it had been sprayed with some sort of industrial product. This product cannot be returned so my money was just wasted for nothing. Would not recommend to anyone.

These have a great smell and I often find myself opening the bag ...
These have a great smell and I often find myself opening the bag and inhaling deeply just to get that nice rose scent. The product has retained its smell even after doing this as often as I have, but I guess that's more of a note on the packaging than anything else.As other people have said, what you get from steeping based on the recommendation printed on the bag is actually not very strong -- but that was my expectation. There is only so much you can get from steeping dried flowers, I guess.I actually crush them with the back of a spoon and cold steep them in filtered water for days at a time and then filter that mix through a fine mesh screen. With the final product I either make ice cubes (they have a lovely presentation when thrown into water, tea, etc.) or mix it in with a larger batch of tea. My "formula" is 2 tablespoons of crushed rose buds in one 12 oz mug filled to the top with water and then a lid resting on top of that to keep the rose buds submerged, as they do float. I know it's "done" when the color has drained from the buds and water is rose colored (up to several days). This also works with a hot steep, left to sit until room temp, which (obviously) takes less time. I say better too strong than too weak, because you can always dilute. This is not the product you want if you want an instant cup of rose punch in your face without any effort (ie throwing rose buds straight from the bag into boiling water) but I feel it's served the purpose for what I wanted it for and despite my generous use of the buds per "serving" the bag is still very full after several rounds of this method.

Turns abnormal green color
EDIT: I contacted the seller and they were kind enough to offer a refund or a replacement, so +2 stars for customer service! This is not good quality chrysanthemum tea. I had high hopes because chrysanthemum tea is my favorite kind of tea but I found that the tea turns a lime green color but it should normally be a pale yellow tint. There was also barely any flavor at all and the quality seems suspect...

Beautiful scent
I bought these osmanthus flowers to make floral extracts using oil and glycerine, to make beauty products. I was prepared to be disappointed, as I have been with prior purchases of dried flowers, which have little scent left and are only good for decorative purposes. These osmanthus flowers were a surprise. From the time I opened the package, I was enveloped by the smell of a sweet, sticky apricot/peach/floral/honey smell which made my mouth water. I felt like licking the flowers, they were so deliciously scent. I put some of the blooms in glycerine and some in oil and both extracts a so wonderfully scented that I want to hoard them for myself not use them in my products at all. I am off to purchase a second bag and will also take a chance on some of the other dried flowers from this brand. Cannot wait to experiment and see what I can make.

I like the osmanthus smell and tried to use these dry ...
I like the osmanthus smell and tried to use these dry flowers to make some osmanthus syrup but found lots of sand under the bottom of the syrup in the pot. Very disappointed! There is sand in the food, unacceptable!!!

I love these little rose buds
I love these little rose buds! They don't have much flavor but they make a cup of tea really pretty! Most of the rose buds were intact and whole when they arrived. I am keeping them in mason jars and they look really nice in them! I am giving them 5 stars because of the presentation, and how all the buds arrived intact, because I am mostly using them as decor/ spice in my kitchen. I can't comment much on the flavor because I put a few of the rose buds in some chamomile tea just to see if I could taste them, and I couldn't. Perhaps if you only used the roses you would taste them but when mixed with tea they become overpowered.

This Chrysanthemum tea is some of the best I have tried
This Chrysanthemum tea is some of the best I have tried. The quality is very good. I used to get this tea from the local Asian markets and the quality of this product is superior to anything I have purchased at the market.
