the best HVAC book
I've read many HVAC books and have worked in HVAC for several years. This is the best HVAC book I've read. It is the only book actually taking advantage of computers. This books complements the "Heat Transfer" and "thermodynamics" books by Nellis/Klein - but also is useful as standalone book. The knowledge level in this book is pretty high and very thorough. All necessary information is included, no unnecessary fluff. I devoured this book within a week because I could not stop reading it. Years ago I looked at HVAC books and always thought they are missing the point and I will need to write a book on my now to get it all right - until finally now there is a useful HVAC book.

Need to purchase a license for a companion software for this book to be useful.
As mentioned above you need to purchase a license for a companion software for this book to be useful. It does an okay job explaining the concepts but without the EES software all of the examples and practice problems are useless. If this book is not required for a class I would look elsewhere. If it is required for your class good luck! Chegg will not provide much assistance either.

New HVAC Book
Very good and professional book. The book is more academic than a practical one, and to my opinion the target audience is engineering students, specializing in the field of HVAC.For engineers working in HVAC design, it is a good reference for theory and calculation of various problems.

if you don't mind reading in computer programming script and you have EES then this might be a good book for you
This book is hard to read. The example problems are answered in engineering equation solver and many times it expects you to use the same software for solving practice problems. So, if you don't mind reading in computer programming script and you have EES then this might be a good book for you.
