I purchased the Manuka Oil from Hill Country Manuka after a lot of research. I have heard a lot about Manuka Oil and how amazing this essential oil is for treating virtually any skin problem. I know that there are many different retailers of this product on Amazon, so I really wanted to choose wisely. I love the fact that Hill Country Manuka retail 100% pure Manuka Oil and it comes from the East Cape Region of New Zealand which is the best source of this oil, based on all the research I have done.I know that a lot of reviewers have talked about this oil smelling bad, so I was expecting not to like the scent. While I agree that it is strong smelling, I actually think that the aroma isn’t too bad and it does dissipate quickly. You can also blend it together with other oils to alter the smell too if you like.I brought this Manuka Oil for a whole range of reasons. I have two young boys who are always getting their knees scraped or some other minor cut or abrasion. I wanted to use a natural antiseptic that I knew would treat these problems. Manuka Oil has anti-microbial properties, so it can kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi rapidly. I know that when I apply this oil on any cut or abrasion it will get rid of any nasty microbes.Personally I use Manuka Oil for psoriasis, especially around my elbows. It helps to reduce the inflammation and it seems to help minimize any flare-ups. I have also had success using this oil on blemishes on my face, as well as reducing the appearance of stretch-marks. I have noticed a couple of skin tags on my neck, which I’m about to tackle next with Manuka Oil.My husband has started using Manuka Oil to treat his tinea. Although it’s only early days he has noticed a massive improvement and the infection seems to be going away quickly. This product has made an AMAZING difference in my skin!I turned 50 in November, but I've had acne since I was a teen. Coupled with the onset of pre-menopause, my hormones were wreaking havoc on my skin. To try and arrest the situation, I began a 12-week course (6 sessions, every other week) of microdermabrasion treatments. I started on June 24. I should also mention that in February this year, I developed a horrible-looking rash/fungal infection on my chin, which had spread to about 4-5 inches in width and very noticeable because it was about 4 shades darker than my honey-colored skin. Yuck! The woman at the spa wouldn't even touch it on my first visit. (I foolishly thought she could just microderm away the hardened, scaly thing away.) She advised me to use something called Tend Skin until it disappeared. So I went home and found Tend Skin online, but I did not order it. Instead, something called Manuka oil popped up. Because I have oily skin (even now at 50!), I am verrrrry hesitant about adding ANY type of oil on my face, but after reading the customer testimonials, I decided I had absolutely nothing to lose.I ordered it July 1 for overnight delivery. When it arrived (July 2), I used it that very day when I came home from work. The next morning, I was AMAZED: I could see a tangible difference in my skin! What's more, at my next microdermabrasion session on July 10, the woman asked me what I'd been doing since my last visit. She was astonished at the difference in my skin - particularly that rash! I showed her the Manuka oil. She examined the ingredients, told me they were safe, and that I should keep using it. I went back last week, July 24, and she was almost speechless because the rash was approx. 90% improved - so much so that she could now microderm the area. As of July 30, that nasty rash is about 99% G O N E! You can't even tell where it was! (I say 99% because I can see the 1% - but no one else can). And I know it's because of Manuka Oil. This product has given me back my confidence and my social life. There were weekends that I would refuse dates and not leave the house because I was so embarrassed by this rash on my face. And going to work was heartbreaking for me. As an Executive Assistant, I have tointerface with C-level people all day long. Thank God no one was ever cruel enough to ask "what's that on your chin?" even when I could see people staring at it. And no amount of makeup would cover it. Now I don't even have to wear makeup on the weekends - unless I'm going out socially.
