Thes little lightweight 10:1 auto-tuner is plug and play at least with my radio the FT450D. Just connect and go ALMOST. One thing that they do not tell you either in the manual or in the FAQ on their web site is that if your radio has an internal tuner, you MUST disable it when this tuner is active. You cannot have the two tuners on at the same time. You can either put the LDG in bypass and use the internal tuner or disable the internal tuner and bring the LDG online. But not both at the same time. You don't want them trying to outdo each other.

I wrote to LDG requesting assitance with their user guide. It was hard to understand. The only response I got back from Dwayne Kincaid, WD8OYG, told me to read the user guide. I got no answers to my specific questions! LDG Electronics provided no customer service.

This tuner works great with my FT 450. Once it matches with a frequency and you return to it after using another frequency, all you have to do is push the red button and it goes to those settings and if they don't work it starts the tuning program again. The setup was very simple and it worked great, the instructions were very clear and I had no problems with this impressive little tuner...
