Great tool
I am replacing my Roman Shades which are basically quilts hanging from my windows as they have many layers. I didn't want to machine stitch the layers together so I'm using this tool. I think the trick is to go slow on the trigger. I found out that basically do almost a two step trigger press works best. So, I place the needle through all layers of my fabric, then press the trigger to release the basting piece from the main strip - so 1/2 way press on the trigger and stop do not release, then complete the process of pushing the basting piece into your fabric by pressing the trigger the rest of the way. So a slow and easy trigger press with a pause halfway will increase your "success" rate and decrease the "jamming" rate significantly. The quick trigger press is not the way to use this tool.

Doesn’t work
Sounds good but came with a broken needle. Even with a sharp one, it’s too fragile for quilting.

Also the basting gun is easy to use and if there is an issue there ...
I am a dance teacher, and this little basting gun is a life savor. For performance time it is the first item that goes in our back stage kit. We use the smallest tacks and then if we have any costuming issues it is a quick fix with the gun. We also use it for our platter tutu's to help keep the tulle together, so we don't have the tulle separating (like during a jump). Also the basting gun is easy to use and if there is an issue there are so few parts that its easy to fix the part that is broken, but the main thing that does break is the needle, but that was after MANY uses.

very versatile can be used for more then quilting.
I have had one just like this for about 20 years. I purchased this one for a friend. I have used mine for costumes, attaching items to packaging for shipping and all sorts of applications. Very useful tool!

Helpful device
I actually purchased this after seeing a hack on TikTok. It showed a woman using this to keep her blouse closed where it usually gapes open if you are larger chested. It works awesome for that! Great Hack!

No more safety pin basting
Easy to use. Faster than safety pinning. 1/4" plastic tags keep layers together. Easy to remove.Wish I'd bought it years ago!

WOULD NOT WORK!
Wasted money! Needle would not puncture the thinnest fabrics let alone quilting cotton. Had several people try it with no success. Even tried to shoot out the plastic tacks into the air, it just mangled them! This was the replacement for the 1st one I ordered and sent back but unfortunately, I was out of town and missed the return date for this replacement. I bought another brand at a local store and it works just fine.

Hard to figure out how to work!
My daughter & I both bought one & we both got help figuring out how to work. Looked like it had a needle but it had to be put in the gun. Needs better instructions!!!

What an awesome time saver for quilting your sandwich together
Easy to use, just follow instructions. Dont forget to put the needle in first, its on the cord.this will save so much time in the construction of the quilt and not to mention saving your fingers not haveing to use safety pins to hold the layers togeter. I am so happy i order this. Thank you amazon.

Got a replacement, tried it, it didn't work.
Bought, tried it, it never worked.Maybe it's faulty. Returned.Got a replacement, tried it, it didn't work. Returned.Either I'm the dumbest person in the world, or this is a highly ineffective and useless tool.I'd like to believe the latter. Pretty sure it's the latter.
