I’ve used medi-dan at least once a week for my dry scalp for the past 10+ years. It was so effective and cooling feel, I would send to friends abroad if they were having issues w scalp. Well medi-dan is no longer produced and I spent an afternoon in a rabbit hole researching different options, etc. I tried a few, but this was the winner in closest effectiveness to medi-dan. It takes a bit more to lather, but the tar smell/effect comes through and does work.If you are someone who finds neutrogena t-gel, either the clear or tar version, effective, then lucky you and you likely don’t need this which is on the stronger side.The bottle is smaller than you’d think and more the size of a bottle of toner than shampoo. But, if you are someone who suffers from a really itchy scalp in particular (I don’t have psoriasis or anything similar to how my scalp feels anywhere else), then this may be your savior.Pro tip from a sales lady at Sally’s years ago - get one of the thin blue palm sized scrapers. Apply sea breeze astringent first on scalp, scrape off dead scalp skin with scraper, and rinse very well before applying this shampoo. 🤌

Tengo psoriasis muy agresiva en el cuero cabelludo... había probado todo tipo de tratamientos de uso topico y no me hacían nada hasta que llegue a este champú. Es cierto que huele fatal, pero merece la pena. Su efecto se puede observar, en mi caso, desde la segunda lavada.

I have thin hair so anything that extends the time between washing is perfect for me. This shampoo really cleans your scalp and was recommended by my dermatologist. It’s been the best thing I’ve tried for a reasonable price!

Purchased in June, it is now September.I was struggling for over a year with itchy, flakey scalp. I've tried many dandruff shampoos and home remedies and everything either stopped working after 1 week or didn't work at all. After I washed my hair and my hair dried I would see flakes. I almost went to a dermatologist but I found this shampoo and thought I'd try it first. THIS STUFF WORKS AND STAYS WORKING.So the first week I used it I actually used it 5 out of days of the week. Each time I washed my hair I massaged this into my scalp, let sit for 1 minute, rinse. Then I applied it again and let sit for another minute. Before my 3rd day of use I noticed I did have a very little amount of flakes but they were a bit bigger BUT when I wiped them away it DID NOT create more flakes!! That was such a huge problem for me as I could never hide my flakes. After my 5th washing day my flakes were completely gone.It's been 2 months and I try to use the shampoo maybe once a week just to prevent flakes from coming back as so far I only get flakes when I don't wash my hair for like 3-4 days but if I do every other day with regular shampoo my scalp is perfectly fine.Oh, the smell isn't pretty but it's not strong and disgusting either.

It’s a great replacement for the Neutrogena T-Gel extra strength. Doesn’t smell as good but not bad either. Works better than most. I have a sensitive scalp and itchy. This one works great. Been using it for three weeks, no issues. Others start issues within five days. This one foams more than the T-Gel but fizzles out quickly. I think that keeps me from using as much. Still working out the amount to use.But I’ll keep buying this one. Glad for an alternative.
