Amazing cook book with accessible and delicious recipes
I first purchased Dadimas cookbook last year for myself as I was looking for a cookbook which had authentic Indian recipes cooked from the heart - i think i stumbled upon it on instagram. Dadimas's surpasses your expectations and doesn't disappoint you -as the recipes are wholesome, where they evoke nostalgia and you can anticipate the smell of each recipe as you turn the page. I love how each page describes the origins of the recipe, the 'secret tricks' which only the older generation will know of as this is what makes Dadimas truly unique and special, filled with so much wisdom. I loved the cook book so much that I purchased a further 2 cook books for my siblings as they are always calling me asking 'didi how do you make the best alloo gobi' or 'yellow masoor daal' - now I can say go to page 91 or 194 as they have the best recipes to guide them. I grew up eating so much of the food described in Dadimas, standing over my mums shoulder learning how to make dishes which are so difficult to create -kadhi or saag accompanied by the most fluffiest roti. Watching endless youtube videos learning how to cook these recipes is nothing compared to Dadimas cookbook. When I discovered Dadima's, not only have I been able to reconnect and cook all my favourite recipes, i found the cook book a way of keeping those moments alive making sure all the memories we had created in our childhood didnt fade away, as food is such a big part of our culture. I am happy that what our older generation learnt is being treasured in this cookbook. The new addition of being able to purchase panjiri from Dadimas is a real example of what the older generation would eat for nourishment and energy and now this is readily available.I couldn't recommend Dadimas more highly, as the cookbook is such gem where each recipe is filled with all the depth of true Punjabi heritage. I am eagerly waiting for Dadima's next cook!

Indian cuisine at it's best!
This is a beautiful and well presented book that encases the journey of so many Dadima’s. Stunning photography used throughout and useful to see the finished dish in pictures.Loved the human element and was inspired to read about real people cooking from the heart.A treasured thought, that the author has taken such a keen interest in preserving the Dadima’s experiences and techniques over time. A delightful array of recipes from past and present.I particularly liked Indu’s Jeera Chicken wings and Kamla’s Saag recipes; delicious!! Looking forward to trying Bholi’s Gorgeous Gajrela!!The book is printed on good photo quality paper that gives it a lovely feel and touch; I can see that this will be a much used and loved cookbook in my kitchen.

Looking forward to many more books from this author
Just received my copy of Dadima's cookbook by Anneeka Ludhra. By believing in this connectedness between all the wisdom handed down through generations, Anneeka is compelling us to move beyond our self interests. She has given voice to her beliefs and has taken action on her values. Through her cooking journey, she has moved beyond self and given generously of what she has which I see as the first of many such successful stories. Respect is a natural by-product of selfless acts. Well done for taking the lead on this Anneeka!

There are better books out there
Difficult to navigate (it's divided by Grandmother, not cuisine or type of dish), not enough recipes. Also, there are only a handful (maybe three) recipes that include meat. Nowhere did it mention it was nearly entirely vegetarian.

A superb book for anyone interested in Indian cooking!
Superbly written, the passion and enthusiasm for retaining wisdom in the form of recipes is perfectly captured in Dadima's. The recipes themselves are exquisite and the stories accompanying the food highlight that Punjabi cooking is much more than just sustenance, but a way of life and a healing power that brings people together.I cannot recommend this enough as it is a staple for anyone with even a slight interest in Indian cooking. Bring on the second book!

Highly recommend.
An author who connects with food in such an authentic and down-to-earth way that it never fails to draw you in on the culinary journey and inspire. The stories and recipes intertwine seamlessly, but it is the passion and clarity with which they are presented that makes this book a must have for those of us wanting to attempt true Indian cooking. Highly recommend.

Inspiring... Not just a regular cook book!
I'm absolutely in love with this book.. It's written so well and I love the concept of the story behind each grandmother and her recipe. The visuals are incredible. I'm very lazy in the kitchen but this has inspired me to get back into the kitchen and try new dishes
