Sturdy and functional
This stand looks just like the Brother one at half the price except the Brother attaches to your machine. However, you have to remove the cover on your machine to attach the Brother one and I wasn't keen on doing that.It is very sturdy and I think it will keep me more organized when working with multiple thread colors. I deducted a star because the instructions that came with it were not the right instructions. I manage to put it together by looking at the picture on the box. I have some pieces left over...not sure what they are for or where they go. They look like thread guides. Also, there was sand all over the base...not sure how that happened!

A great help for machine embroidery!
I was having problems with my Brother PE 770 jamming and causing "birds' nests" and finally it quit working all together. My repairman said that the problem was the machine's horizontal spool holder that twisted the thread as it wound into the machine guides. He recommended that I buy a thread stand so the thread would be guided to pull up off the spools.Since the Brother holder was so expensive, I decided to try this one, and I'm really glad I did. It is a little wobbly, but that does not seem to interfere with its performance. It is free standing, and sits behind my embroidery machine. Two thread guides feed the thread into the machine. Once the thread spools are secured to the stand, you just thread each color to the machine as you need them. This has eliminated all my problems with jam-ups, and I have done a huge embroidery project without any issues. It also makes it much easier to thread the machine without constantly replacing spools of thread to change colors.I would definitely recommend this tool for anyone who does a lot of machine embroidery.

First let me say that it looks like it will work terrifically
Bought this as a gift for my wife for Christmas.First let me say that it looks like it will work terrifically. However, what we received is not exactly what is pictured. The little metal thing at the top is a thread cutter, and there was none in the box.One of the spool pins was messed up in casting, so it won't insert into the base. The two horizontal thread holders were in the instructions, but not in the box.The horizontal piece at the top looked different from the one we received. Instead of holes, it has slots, and little T shaped pieces below with rubber bands on them. (No explanation of what those are for). Ten extra pieces that slide over the top with holes in them were included, but no explanation of those in the directions, either. It looks to hold the thread beautifully for quick exchange when sewing, whether you have cones or spools. My wife has a sewing/embroidery combination (Brother 7500), so it is the size of a standard sewing machine. When fully extended, this towers above it at almost two feet tall. It is massive! When extended to its full height, it is quite wobbly and a little unstable. Seems a bit flimsy. So decent product, but we didn't get what was pictured.

The Wife Loves It!
The purchase of this thread stand complemented my wife's quilting/embroidery machine very well. After getting used to the embroidery functions she commented to me that it was hard to keep track of which color threads went in what order without going back to the thread chart for the project. I figured there had to be something out there to help her out so after some research I thought this stand would do well. It did more than just do well and it's help my wife be more organized and work faster. She can line her colors up in order of need and just move from left to right or however she wants to order them. For a piece of plastic it is very sturdy when put together. I didn't know what it was at first, but at the top of the stand is a spring looking mechanism. Hey I'm a man, I didn't know what it was... But it hides the blade for cutting the thread, no more picking up scissors. The spring prevents you from getting cut, just slip the thread between the coils... GREAT DESIGN!!!

Complete product
Arrived in tact with all promised accessories and works as expected. Can't ask for much more than that, other than the form factor makes it impossible to use when embroidering with my largest hoop....my work area just won't accept both things at once, It works well when I'm using smaller hoops though.

It's Big!
Bought the wrong item. This thread stand is for the real large spools of thread, not the small (1100) threads for embroidering on my home embroidery machine. The thread stand is much larger than I anticipated. I suppose it would work but it's too big for my use. It's gray in color..I know, a bit picky but I prefer the white thread holders that are smaller and fit behind the machine. Will be returning it.

Awesome
This works great behind my machine,I would like it to be a little more sturdy. The spool holder tips when removing/adding the thread

Embroidery thread Stand
Great price, didn't know I would receive 10 spools of thread, great surprise. Stand itself is great for displaying threads by numbers. Plastic, so is flemsy, top thread holes could be smaller diameter, maybe with rubber grommets.
