The best car product I've used in....well...ever. Results on my truck were amazing.
Wow....I wish I would have know about this stuff years ago. I used this on my 2011 dark blue Tundra the past weekend and the results were amazing. I wish I would have taken close up before and after photos. Just to be clear, I take good care of me cars and trucks. They're washed weekly, waxed 2-3 times per year, and in the garage when not at work. So I thought the paint wasn't that bad....I was so wrong. I hand washed the truck as usual, and it wasn't even that dirty, more dust that anything. I dried it off with the synthetic chamois and micro fiber towel. Then I broke out the clay bar and lube/spray wax. I took half of one bar and formed it into a disk about the size of a large posit not, maybe a little smaller. I sprayed the lube/wax on the panel and rubbed the clay bar as instructed with slight pressure, but not actually pushing down on it. For the first 2-3 passes I could actually hear the bar as it went over the particles embedded in the paint and then it would become smooth and quite. I turned the clay over and it was brown and full of crap it had pulled of my paint. I wiped the panel down with a micro fiber cloth and the paint literally looked new. I ran my hand across it and it was smoother than I had ever felt it. Overjoyed at the results I continued on with the rest of the truck. It looks amazing. I seriously wouldn't have believed the results if I wouldn't have done it myself. By the time I was on the last panel I could tell the clay was stating to break down, but I was impressed with how long it lasted. They should send 2 bottles of the lube/wax spray, because I think the spray will run out before the clay. I'm sold on this stuff, it was really easy to use and fast, I think start to finish on the clay bar cleaning was maybe 20-30 minutes. I will be doing this at least once a year, if not twice. Well worth the money.

Everything you need at a good price
I used to think that claying a car required special skills and care, but today I learned that claying is simple to do with no risk of damage caused by being an amateur, and the results are very satisfying. The price for the kit is better than the price of the three items purchased separately. It's a complete kit with high quality products. Today I used the supplies in this kit on just the trunk lid of my six year old black car after giving it a wash and dry. I followed the steps shown on the box and on Meguiar's online videos, and without much rubbing (a lot like scrubbing the bathtub clean), and then buffing up the light spay finishing wax that comes as the lubricant for the clay, the results were exactly as hoped. With 23+ years of owning black cars, I have been carried off to car paint heaven with this product. Its purpose is to smooth the paint, and after using it, your paint surface has no more of the tiny rough bumps that don't go away with normal cleaning, buffing, and waxing. This process, however, is not meant to get rid of the lacework of swirls that show up as years go on. That calls for an electric buffer, and that's for a different review, but I recommend taking a look at the Meguiar's DA buffer as you compare products. You don't have to clay the whole car at one time, and if you feel like just trying it out, do just one area, like your hood or trunk lid, or top. It's a great product for those of us looney enough to care if our cars are shiny. You see, I've owned cars for years without a single wash. That's actually a nice option too, I think.

Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit is One Key to a Show Car Finish
When I first read about claying your vehicles, several years ago, I was a bit skeptical. It seems strange and like a lot of work for you car, but both impressions were incorrect. After washing your vehicle with a safe wash, Claying your vehicle is the next step and a vital step. Claying removes above surface contaminants on your paint's surface: bits of overspray, tar, etc. and lots of other things you can or more likely can't even see. After washing your car, rub your flat hand across the surface. It won't smooth as glass. Furthermore, listen! You'll hear your hand going back and forth over the surface as it rubs against the contaminants. This is a car that needs to be clayed and just about any car if it has never been clayed needs to be clayed. Even a brand new car on the lot often has contaminants. Furthermore, once clayed, it's usually recommend to do it again every 3 months to a year, depending on the environment your car is in. Honestly, claying your vehicle doesn't take a particularly long amount of time. I'd say it's possible to do it in just under thirty minutes. The Smooth Surface Clay Kit from the wonderful folks at Meguiar's is the perfect kit to clay your vehicle. Again, after washing your vehicle, spray an area with the Quick Detailer, and then use the clay bar across the surface. You can search Youtube for Meguiar's Clay kit, to see demonstrations from users, but it isn't hard to do. Do a thorough job on your vehicle, and the way your hand then moves across the surface will impress you. I'm amazed every time. After claying, you have several options. The clay kit includes a sample of cleaner wax, and you can certainly use that. It has some mild cleaners and some protection. However, if you use a cleaner wax, I'd recommend waxing the car more often as it isn't quite as durable as dedicated separate products. Once a month for example with the cleaner wax, would be good. Or, you could use the cleaner wax for its mild below surface cleaning properties followed by a more robust wax product such as Meguiar's Gold Class or NXT 2.0, and then you could potentially be set for a few months. If you want to do even more after claying, you can use a paint cleaner from Meguiar's for below surface contaminants right after claying, and then optionally a Pure Polish after that. You'd top all that off with a wax such as Meguiar's Gold Class, or Meguiar's NXT 2.0. Furthermore, pick up more of the Quick Detailer, and you can use it to remove light dust and contaminants to your paint on a regular basis, and you can actually find you won't have to wash your vehicle as often. Whatever you choose, regular maintenance of your car's finish will keep you smiling for years to come. Meguiar's clay kit is a great way to start because not only does it make your finish smooth as glass, but it allows whatever wax you apply to adhere more evenly and properly to the surface, providing a better shine and longer lasting protection. A great product. Highly recommended.

Works great
I've heard of using the claybar to help car looking better, smoother, and cleaning it more thoroughly since washing the car isn'the enough. Others have said that the clay is too soft. I don'the know the difference but, it works just fine. The quik detailer spray is a small bottle and found a size double that for less than what is being sold at Walmart. This is probably a great way to detailing your car and familiarizing yourself with a claybar, quik detailing spray, and a soft microfiber cloth. It's the same price at Walmart, but, I prefer the convenience of waiting to receive a package at my door than to pick it up at the store unless I needed to get something else from there. I do feel the difference that everyone is talking about, before and after using it. I did just purchased my vehicle just a month ago and it was sitting at the car lot as of March 2016. So, even newer cars do have this problem with contaminants, oxidation, bird droppings, etc. Maybe not as bad as older cars, but, whether it's new or old vehicles, you got to try it for yourself.

Highly recommend
I recently used the Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit, and I'm thoroughly impressed with the results it delivered. This kit has proven to be a game-changer in achieving a smooth and glossy finish for my car. The standout feature of this kit is the clay bar itself. It's incredibly effective at removing contaminants, like road grime, tar, and stubborn dirt, from the car's paint surface. Using it was easy and hassle-free, thanks to the included quick detailer spray that provides lubrication and ensures the clay glides smoothly across the surface. The difference in the paint's texture and appearance after claying was remarkable – it felt as smooth as glass. The included microfiber towel is of high quality and is perfect for wiping away any residue after claying. The entire process is straightforward and user-friendly, even for those who may be new to detailing their cars. What I appreciate most about this kit is that it goes beyond just claying the paint. It prepares the surface for waxing or polishing, ensuring that subsequent steps in the detailing process yield the best results. The final shine achieved after using this kit sets the stage for a professional-looking finish. While the Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit is slightly more expensive than standalone clay bars, it's worth the investment. It simplifies the claying process with the included spray and microfiber towel, making it an all-in-one solution for achieving a smooth and glossy finish on your vehicle. If you're serious about car detailing and want your paint to feel and look its best, I highly recommend this kit.

Clay Bar - The most important step in properly washing your car and Mequiar's delivers
After doing a fair amount of research on both the process of correctly washing a car and products I learned that using a clay bar is probably the most important step in washing/polishing and waxing your car. I didn't realize how much a difference it makes to use the clay bar until I tried it for the first time. After giving my truck a good washing I ran my hand over the paint and it felt very smooth, so I thought. Then I used the clay bar kit and the difference was night and day and that was before I even polished and waxed the truck. It does take a little more time but the results make it well worth the effort. Before I made the purchase I did research the Mequiar's products consistently came up at the top of the list but not just on Amazon (reviews) but also other dedicated car wash sites. I bought this kit with high expectations and those expectations were surpassed. How I review: When I review a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then add and/subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below. 1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four star rating 2. If an item surpasses my expectations it will gain a star 3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations it will lose a star 4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations 5. If a product is significantly below my expectations I will deduct two stars 6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four star product gets a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product one star

It looks so good that we are not going to take the car ...
What a life saver Meguiar's Clay Kit has been. A few days ago our car door was dinged in a parking lot, and the car door that hit ours left a black mark on our car, as well as a small shallow dent. Thank goodness I had ordered this kit! I sprayed the lubricant on my car, then rubbed it vigorously with the clay bar. It took some elbow grease, but eventually the black mark came off ... completely. It looks so good that we are not going to take the car to the repair shop at all. This clay bar will remove tar, dead bugs, and other hard to remove debris ... even hard water deposits, when other cleaners fail. It is easy to use and it leaves my car feeling as smooth as silk and looking like new. The kit comes with a good quality microfiber towel to dry off my car when I am finished. I don't know how this clay bar works. It is not abrasive, but it restores my car to like new, and it does not mar or damage the paint at all. If you like to baby your car, this kit is a MUST.

Transformation, the results are great.
Absolutely great, very gentle clay. I was scared of scratching my clear coat using clay since I had a bad experience with other clays. I washed the car and then with the hose on I rubbed the clay gently over the entire car (with water directly running on the clay at all times) Instead of using the quick detailer that came with the clay, I figure with abundant water there would be no dry friction possibilities between the clay and my paint, it worked wonders. I used half a bar of clay on one car, the clay did remove a bunch of particles stuck on my cars clear coat, after doing this I washed the car again and then dried it, I was surprised to feel such a noticeable difference when I washed the car again, not only that, it was also very very easy to dry compared to before using the clay. Anyway, after all this I used Meguiars wax paste, it was also very easy to apply and remove! When I looked at my car after being completely done I was surprised to see the amazing shine I achieved without even buffing, the paint is smooth as glass.

Fantastic product. Well worth the effort.
The car is getting some lockdown love and clay was something I've heard of but never had the time to do. I gave the car a good wash using Meguires ultimate wash and wax using 2 bucket method then set about getting the car clayed up. The stuff ie easy to use I used half one bar. I Played with it in my hands for a minute to warm it up then use some of the detailing spray that comes with it to spray small sections and work the clay over the body work. This takes stuff off the car you cannot see with the eye and leaves it feeling smooth. No point in going to all that effort and not sealing it with something so some hybrid ceramic spray was applied afterwards. I’m going to start doing this as required to keep the pain in the car looking good. It’s well worth the effort and the beesing is great! Edit- I would actually recommend the new Meguiar’s hybrid ceramic wax and detailing spray to do the same job. It’s easier to use and did the same job. I’ll keep the physical clay for those hard to get spots. But the spray stuff looks to be easier for the same job

Maravilloso.
