worth it
I have done a lot of different workouts and liked them. I am subscribed to Tracy Anderson and love the variety, that I don't bulk and my backside looks great. I've gained weight recently doing a necessary health regime and wanted a kick start. Granted, I'm only on day 2 plus the test, but this is quite a workout. This is what I remember feeling like when I would train for a sport in school. Much more upper body work, full body work, and I really feel good afterwards. I am someone who easily bulks, so I will give another review after 40 days. I already eat clean (minus happy hour with workmates, which really, I'm more than happy to give up). It feels too good to have your body feel good. I probably will not do his diet also because I don't eat grain. Also, as other reviewers have said, short bursts. ... you have about 30 seconds an exercise, so you don't get bored, or want to quit from too many repetitions, but there is definitely room for improvement. And the $ for me is more than I would normally spend. But if you are someone who is time limited, gets bored easy, and likes to feel challenged, I think you would enjoy this workout.

Most Satisfied.
This 'J-Core' is great. You workout with one of the DVD's for 20mins each day. That may not sound like much, but I'm a 160lb 30y/o man who lives a pretty active lifestyle and I can't keep up with it yet! These are all simple activities that we just never do. The workouts are short, efficient, and fun. makes me smile and laugh a little bit. Any first-timers, even if you are physically fit, I promise, you will feel it in every muscle in your body! No weights? YOU are the weights. BTW, I saw first the Ad for the book version of your workout 'Cardio Core 4x4' in 'Bicycle' magazine. For me, the book was hard to use, but at least I could see what your system was all about, and it does contain alot of good reading material that you don't get from the DVD's. I am very happy with the J-Core workout DVD's. More than worth the money! But Jay, you should've still named it 'Cardio Core 4x4' like your book(that name got my attention in the first place). Most fun workouts on dvd!!!!
I consider myself an intermediate to advanced excerciser and didn't think a 20 minute workout would be enough but there are days when I want to fit in something quick or when I'm too tired for an hour long session.These dvds contain the most fun excercises ever and they really are challenging.I've been using them as an add on to my strength training workouts and they really do make me sweat!!They are so much fun that I look forward to doing them-I have a huge collection of workout dvds and other then TaeBo,these dvds are the only ones that I actually crave!Jay is so encouraging without being over the top annoying and the excercises are more like fun then a dreadful workout!I would highly recommend them-since they're short,advanced excercises can do 2 back to back or like I do,add them on to another workout.I've wasted alot of money on awful dvds and this set is the best purchase I've made in awhile.I only wish he had more dvds out there!And the JCore company was a pleasure to deal with.

Great workout to start you on the road to fitness
I'm a big P90X fan, but sometimes you are not ready for extreme. After a series of unfortunate events, I was looking for a good DVD series to help me get in shape.JCORE was the answer. The instructor is very encouraging, and the exercises are designed for maximum range of participants.Several of my friends have borrowed the DVD set, and I have ordered more. Everyone seems to love it.Like the original P90X, this workout does not require special equipment. In fact, JCORE goes one step further. You don't need anything except for a 4x4 foot area.Truth in lending, you will likely want to transition to a more demanding workout after the first 45-60 days, but that is the period of time when you need this series most.Well done!I highly recommend it!

Just stick with the DVDs
tl;dr: Just stick with the dvds.Caveat: I'm a Linux user. Typically, I am able to ignore "Windows/Mac only" labels with respect to usb devices. However, this particular product was DRM'd.Ignoring the fact that I was only able to access the content via my Windows 8 virtual machine, this was still a pain to access. Firstly, despite Windows clearly being marked as a supported platform, you have to install QuickTime codecs, since a native (wmp) format isn't provided. Once installed, you are made to use a proprietary viewer application with an abysmal interface. It seems to be some kind of web app with a primitive video player (read: no full screen support). Here, I'd have simply opted to use a media player of my choice (such as the excellent vlc media player), but I couldn't. You are forced to use this application. My other complaint stems from the poor quality of the video. It seems to be encoded at something far below 1080p or even 720p like 480i perhaps.In summary, this format is neither convenient, nor worth the reduced price. Pay the extra 30 bucks and get the whole package. Even better, buy from the site direct and get it for a grand total of 59.95 (14.95 free trial then 45).

Husband is hooked!
My husband was skeptical when I bought this for him. But we both love it. Anyone can squeeze in 20 minutes, and it is hard but enjoyable. Jay himself is quite likeable, and he knows what he is doing. We have taken this with us on vacations and even used it from our laptop. I usually do a few extra pushups and triceps dips at the end, though. If you are already in good shape, you may need a little more.

Goes by fast...
Pretty cool! Just make sure you follow a good diet. I was struggling a little at first because I hadnt worked out in months. But after 3 weeks and not really watching my diet I am seeing results. So, I will be stricter with my diet now. I am in my 40's and my craving for sweets has so intensifide. It makes me wonder did somebody put a on curse me? Hahaha! Get this dvd program. It has motivated me to now get the P90X3. Go watch the infomercial on that one...its on.
