Made of aluminum, not steel
The Amazon listing says this is steel, I purchased this with the intent of heating it up to remove the finish so I could reblue it for my rifle. About 3 seconds under a propane torch was enough to near liquefy it. It shouldn't be difficult to put accurate information in the listing.

Exact fit for my 111.
Exact fit for my 111 with wood stock. Can't believe Savage puts plastic trigger guards on their rifles. Hunted with it for a few years, even in the mountains on horseback and never had any issues. Just always felt like a weak point to me and finally got tired of chancing it.
