This is not fit for purpose. It’s so rough round the top I’d get splinters using it and couldn’t use it for preparing herbs as there’s too much wood breaking off. So disappointed - it looks so smooth and usable in your product description - the one that arrived even has a deep gash in the wood

Bought this so that I might continue to use a mortar and pestle in our kitchen. I have spine problems,and hand-eye co-ordination and grip aren't what they used to be/should be. So I bought one of these. Looks sturdy enough. Hven't used it yet, but if I do, it's less fragile than our lovely ceramic one so I'll be less apprehensive about using this one.

I enjoy using and just seeing this lovely item in my kitchen. It replaced an ugly granite one. It is not to heavy and a decent size for my purposes. Wiping with olive oil protects an enhances it.
