Urnex Dezcal 5 PackUpdate 07-28-18I'm still using Dezcal to descale my heavily-used Keurig about every 6 months, which is about how long it takes for the Keurig to display a message on the LCD screen saying it's time to descale. Dezcal really works well. Like many people I first tried vinegar, but in my experience that's akin to taking a sugar pill. High expectations with no noticeable change. But Dezcal works well.========================I don't understand some of the reviews here. They provide 3 or 4 words saying the product works and then only give it 2 or 3 stars! One reviewer gave one star because it didn't get rid of an 'alarm' on his coffee maker. Without additional information, those are useless reviews that unnecessarily skew the product rating.This product only claims to remove scale (mineral buildup) in coffee makers! If you have a different problem or other expectations, look elsewhere.Ignoring the very few inexplicable negative reviews, I purchased Dezcal to remove the scale in my Keurig K500 (ver. 2.0) coffee machine. It was starting to make occasional 'short cups' as one reviewer described it, and I was hoping Dezcal would bring it back from the brink - and it did.Following the directions on the packet I mixed the contents of one packet with 32 oz. of water, and ran the solution through my coffee maker - one cup at a time. I then took an extra step and let the brewed solution come to room temperature and ran it through the coffee maker again. As a final step, I washed the reservoir and ran two reservoirs of clean water through the machine. The K500 now operates as expected.This is a fine product that does what it claims, and does it very well. Recommended.

For a long time, I didn't know what was making our coffee not taste good. I literally thought the maker changed the roasting or formula and resigned myself to never having that fresh flavor anymore. Then we got a new coffeemaker and it tasted good again. Then after a few weeks, back to dishwater taste. We got a new water pod filter. A little better, but still not right. Then by suggestion, I saw this cleaner. (Now I know that the oils in the coffee somehow make everything taste rancid after a few weeks to a month). Ah, it makes the coffee taste so much better! My grandmother is 89 and blind and bedridden. She has no idea any of this is happening, but that first cup after we clean it I know she's going to make a comment of how good it tastes. We can go longer in between cleanings since we now use a separate pot to make French Vanilla coffee. It's a powder you dissolve in 32 oz. warm water and run through the coffee maker. Then rinse with plain water 2 or 3 times. Pretty easy. So worth it.

Used it every a few month for my coffee maker. It does the job.

Like this product because it is east to use and fast. It doesn't take half a day to clean ur coffee pot. Does good job too!

I recently inherited a Bosch Tassimo TAS2002 coffee maker that had been sitting for a few years. Naturally, the first thing I wanted to do was clean it out before attempting to make a hot beverage with it. I needed a descaler / cleaning solution to pair with the machine's cleaning disc, and Dezcal was one that I found to be recommended often.I mixed the Dezcal per the package's directions into a solution, and put it into the Tassimo's water reservoir. I ran the machine a couple times through with the Dezcal solution, rinsed out the reservoir, and repeated the process with normal water to finish the job. There wasn't much for visible gunk dispensed - maybe the solution was a bit more cloudy on the way out. I'm happy with the results, and the machine now sits in my shared office producing great tasting coffee for the masses!This is a perfect product for my Tassimo coffee maker and I can't come up with a single complaint. I look forward to using the rest of my 5-pack as needed!

Most people purchase this for their coffee makers, as I did. However, I haven't yet had to use it for that. I live in an area with very hard water and the water softener had gone on the fritz. The bathroom ceramic sinks ended up with very hard scale water droplets that wouldn't clean off --- even with a vinegar soak. I mixed up a batch of this and used it on the sinks, and followed up with a mild SS cleaner. It worked. The sinks look like brand new again. DISCLAIMER: I am not endorsing that you use this on your sinks. Use it per the manufacturers instructions for what it was intended. My review is strictly to show that it works well as a descaling product.

Until I see evidence to the contrary I'll assume it's doing what it claims to do. What I love about this descaler is that it has no smell that I can detect, unlike the way vinegar stinks up the room when you use that. The only downside that I see is that you have to run your coffee maker three times with clean water afterwards. With vinegar I only ran it twice to flush out the vinegar. Be sure and read the instructions even though they are pretty small print. One envelope is for 32 ounces of water so for us that about half a pot.

It's a taste saver and coffee maker saver. Let me explain. We have not been meticulous about descaling our coffee maker and it stopped working. (I did clean it with vinegar and water, but obviously it did not work too well.) We descaled it too late with this product, and while the coffee maker started to work in fits and starts, the coffee didn't taste good. We had to get a new coffee maker. Compared with the old one, the coffee is now 100% better, and we are careful to descale it every 100 times we use it, or a little sooner than every 3 months. It makes a huge difference. So, I do recommend the product and its use!

It was a total waste of money
