The Word Waffle Game is excellent resource for teaching context clues. My third graders love it!This was money well spent.

I've set this up as a station in my 3rd grade reading class, and my students LOVE it. It's a little too easy for many of them though, so I might get the 5th grade version and mix some of those cards in, just to make it a bit more challenging. Another thing! Teachers! The instructions/answer key is VERY flimsy, I've had to tape it several times. I suggest laminating it first, which I wish I had done.

I bought this to use in my classroom. I think the cards are fine and they don’t say third grade on the cards as another reviewer said so if you put the box away you could use it for remediation for other grades. The only problem I have is that according to the rules you win based on predicting what the answer to a card be before seeing it. So whether or not you get the answer right once you read the card, makes no difference to your success. There should be some skill involved. If this is just a prediction game then why bother to have a question. Just have cards that say a and b and kids can predict which one the card will say. I want the kids to care if they get the answer right or wrong.

Game rules difficult to understand ...game didnt make sense way rules were written

The game was fine, except that each card had "3rd. Grade" on the back. I had to cut that off each card and throw about a third away. I teach high schoolers.
