Spore : Jones, Tamara, Maakestad, Michele: desertcart.in: Books Review: This book was a selection from my book club. At first, I didn't know what to think as I'm not really a horror reader, however, I would classify this as more SF/Suspense. There were some parts that were very graphic. Also, this author can describe laundry in a way that really grossed me out. The concept was interesting. The plot was disturbing, but Mindy's subplot was my favorite part. On a side note, I don't want to lower my rating over cosmetic issues, but the formatting of the Kindle edition was not so great. There were no gaps between the sections inside chapters and I found out later that there are really cool pictures in the print edition that didn't make it to Kindle. The can be found on the author's website: http://www.tamara-jones.net/novels/spore/the-chapter-graphics/ Review: A friend actually pointed me to this book. Zombies are not my usual fare, but I loved this. It's a cross-genre novel (horror, thriller, mystery, sci-fi) that will grab you from the start and keep you reading to the last page. This was definitely one of those books that kept me awake (because I couldn't put it down). It starts with naked people appearing in a field and no one knows where they're coming from. Then we learn many of them are deceased. So all the while the characters are trying to figure out how the dead are coming back to life, there are several sub-plots at work. I don't want to list them because I hate spoilers. It all comes together beautifully at the end. As a-matter-of-fact, this book was so fun, I would actually read it again, and there are few books I'll do that with. This is definitely a must read!

Fantastic book. Tamara Jones is exceptionally talented at pacing and pulling through the complexity of her characters without bogging down the flow. Highly recommend!
