An Excellent Reference Book
It's a great book for anyone who's interested in crystals and their healing properties. The material is clearly presented and is easy to use. Lots to learn and absorb.

Much better than average!!!
I love Michael Gienger's work. I have found from his other books that unlike a lot of crystal healers who go mostly on personal experience or folk tales, he bases the assignations of the various stones/crystals on research/trials with a group in his home country. The trials are less biased than many new age attempts at trials (which seem to be few and far between) in that they draw research subjects from a wide base, not only the new age community which has a natural bias toward what 'everyone' knows about say, rubies or amethyst. I worked with other crystal books for years and had pretty much given up on 'stones' for healing work as total nonsense until I found his books. I found the stones actually did what he claimed they did. Obviously, everyone is different just like chemistry, but for me at least, his uses for various stones rings more true than any other of the 10 or so books on the topic that I worked with. The only complaint I have is that in all of his books the translations are not so great. There are quite a few noticeable errors. Please don't judge his work by that though, we are lucky he had them translated to English at all. :) I highly recommend all of his work. He has interesting contra indications of some of the stones (no hematite for inflammatory conditions) that dovetails with 'feelings' I have had about not using certain stones for myself, but he explains it rather better than 'that feels wrong'. Grin.

No better author, no better books on healing with crystals and gemstones than M. Gienger
Crystal and gem collecting has been my hobby since 1981. Michael Gienger has written some of the best books on using crystals that I have ever come across. Crystal Power, Crystal Healing: The Complete Handbook Healing Crystals: The A - Z Guide to 430 Gemstones . This new book is another "gem". His explanations of everything from cancer to insect bites is clear and insightful. The crystals he recommends most are some of the most affordable and under-rated stones, such as heliotrope and agates. This is a very practical hands-on book. Gienger tells which 24 healing crystals would be essential in a travel kit, adds another 24 (48 total) to make a good small home kit. Finally, he adds another 42 (90 total) healing crystals that comprise a large home kit. Included are clear color photos for each crystal.I have tried some of the remedies and they have worked very well.I am especially grateful for his simple method of relieving neck pain and tension with an amethyst druse. My neck felt better than it had in years. The three simple treatments I did myself in few minutes one evening, lasted over a week.

Informative Book on Stones
I started reading this book as soon as I got it, I have a few of his other books. This book is helpful and I find what I am looking for. Also I like the photos included, so helpful to see what the stones look like.I am interested in starting first with the Travel Kit. I am not sure what he means by the word 'drill' next to some of the stones to buy. Does this mean I need to buy these stone pre-drilled to use as a pendant, anyone know? Also looking for recommendation on where to buy good stones, I am just getting started with crystals and stones, thank you! :)

My favorite crystal book
I use this on a daily bases. It's my favorite crystal book. It's a wonderful size--easy to hold in the hand and easy to page through. Though it's paperback, the covers are sturdy, with flaps that add to that stability. The back section has some wonderful color photos. Not many, but nice. The first part (and the major part) is arranged according to ailments. It goes into detail. In the back, in a section near the photos, the stones and what they can do are listed. It's kind of a quick version of the front section, only arranged by stone instead of ailment.

This Book Rocks
This excellent book on healing crystals was written by a very well-respected author in the field - I own at least 3 of his books. The Healing Crystal First Aid Manual is structured so well: look up either by illness/condition or by gem stone. I've tried several of these remedies, and they worked like magic for headaches, sore muscles, insomnia, and menstrual cramps. The recommended stones are inexpensive; I bought 10 locally for less than $25. The gems supposedly work by aligning the polarity of your molecules' vibrations so that they resonate with the crystalline molecules of the rock. Or something like that! The one problem I had with this book is that the German-to-English translation is so terrible as to be nearly indecipherable at times. Also, Gienger mentions "gem essences" as a means of application, but nowhere does he give a recipe to make your own gem essence, nor does he say where it can be purchased. Despite these editorial blunders, I think this book is unique in the world of crystal healing and I am very grateful to the author and those who helped assemble all of this useful information in one place.

Really great book!
This book covers so many knowledgeable ways to use crystals to heal. It talks about each crystal in turn and what symptoms/illnesses it can treat. It also very usefully covers the other way round, i.e. if you have a symptom or illness, it tells you which crystal to use. It has fabulous pictures in it of all the crystals that he mentions and explains how to cleanse and charge the crystals too. So far, it has covered all my questions about crystals and healing. A really great book!

Excellent book, but Kindle edition is fatally floored
MIchael Gienger has written probably the most authoritative and usable guide to Crystal healing that I have read, but the Kindle edition lacks a detailed table of contents, so if you want to look up "oedema " for example, you will have to skip to the beginning of the chapter and then turn at least 50 pages to get to the relevant section. This renders the Kindle edition utterly useless as a reference book - a great pity as a little attention to detail when formatting the digital edition could have prevented this. So do buy the book, but DON'T BUY THE KINDLE EDITION.

It is a MUST have.
Anyone thinking of using healing stones should have this book.We cannot, of course, have all the stones and crystals, that is impractical. However, Michael Gienger gives us a short list of must have healing stones for emergencies and a longer list of stones to prevent, to ease and to help us with what our daily live dishes out for us, that is, without saying, in additions to what the medical world prescribes.
