Happy boater
I have an 55hp mercury engine. It is without a tilt and is heavy when full of water. I was unable to lift it from inside the boat. Had to get into the water at launch ramp to lift and drop engine into the water! I now can lift and drop it from the back of the boat. Will work for me until I can figure out a tilt trim .. works as advertised and delivered on time!! It is adjustable so will work on other engines!

DIMPLE IN HANDLE ON FIRST TRY
I see others had the dimple in the handle when using this tilter. I think for the price paid of $83, this thing should be a LOT stronger built than just aluminum tubing. I am modifying mine to use a galvanized pipe handle instead of returning because I really need assistance lifting my 70hp outboard out of the water. CHEAPLY MADE handle for sure. The rest of it is a great concept and works as it should.

Well made. Easy to use.
Had my doubts when I saw it. But when I used to lift my old and very heavy boat motor it was so easy I lifted it with one hand.

Did not work for me
The quality and build on the unit looked good. However it would not work on my motor due to the curvature of the cowl. This item is designed for motors with a flat top. Wish they made a version for Yamaha outboards.

Thin material
Based on the other reviews, I was concerned about the quality of material, but figured since I was using it on a 25hp motor it should be fine. When I received it, the material was even thinner than expected. I reinforced it before the first time I used it with 7/8” wood dowel rod, which fit snuggly. The metal still kinked the first time I tried it.The angle of the handle is also not great, it should be more vertical, and it doesn’t give much leverage since the handle is pretty short.I think it will still work ok, and I don’t see any other better options available. But not very impressed for the price.
