This is one ofJosef Koudelka’s classic books and is a beautiful book to own. I highly recommend it. The first one that was shipped to me from Amazon was shipped in a box with two other items that beat the living crap out of the book. Amazon shipped me out another one and then I’ll just return the first one, but they’re shipping practices are terrible! Putting a book inside of a box that’s six times it size with no packing or anything? Of course it’s going to get damaged. Like anything these days… Service sucks.

Excellent photobook, a sequence of outstanding images linked in a very free way considering the time it was done

A visceral perspective of a life lived entirely on the outside.

A piece of fine art. It creates a solitude atmosphere, between pure blacks and the brightest whites. Koudelka is a contemporary artist moving from the big event documentation (the Czechoslovakia invasion by the soviets) to the common but natural human live. A most to have if you love photography and its top players. Simply a beauty.

Beautiful stark images. I bought this for my husband as a birthday gift, but I think I like it as much as he does. It arrived in pristine condition and a day earlier than anticipated. If you are or are buying this for a fan of Koudelka, black and white photography, or art in general, you'll definitely be pleased.

Gran libro y excelente calidad de impresión

There are some books you should have in your collection no matter what and this is one of them. If you don't have space, make some, you won't regret it. I have to warn you though, when you see the images you will undoubtedly be inspired but you may also think,"why do I bother" and throw your gear away. Joseph Koudelka lives photography and it shows in every image. Given that he took many of his early images with what many would consider inferior equipment is astonishing and having lived the life of a virtual nomad is a testament to the man's integrity, his love for humanity and the art of photography . I could not recommend this book more highly.

Josef Koudelka's Exiles is one of he best photo book ever, J.K is a master at framing ! It's a part of photographic History, you must have it if you are a photo addict !
