Is it easy to rip the tape that is provided, or are scissors recommended? We are looking for plane-friendly activities as scissors won't be available.

The tape is difficult to tear for a 4yr old. I let my daughter use safety scissors to do it. I would suggest Wiki stix (Amazon) for a good plane ride activity.

What is the recommended age for this?

I bought this for my son who was 4..he's now 5 and it seems to be a good age for it. It requires patience and focus. My son loves it!!

Would other tape work-like washi? The skinny tape is no longer available.

Hi, Washi tape would work just fine with this activity book. Best, Your Friends at Melissa & Doug

Is the tape only sold in the combo pack? Is the 4.99 price just for the book?

Tape comes with it. The rolls aren’t huge, so we ended up buying this as a replacement and it works great!! Stickies "Skinny's" Colored Masking Tape (11 Roll Pack) 0.25'' x 70 yards - Perfect for detailed tape projects, Art classes, Crafting projects, painting, detailing and so much more. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XKQL9BD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UiweBbWR4DGYX

Amazing travel activity for toddlers

Took this on our first flight with our toddler and it kept him busy almost the entire 5 hour flight! He's 3 and didn't really follow the activity as it was meant to be used but simply loved ripping and sticking the tape on the pages. I will be buying this again for our next trip! Highly recommend.

Muy buen material para laotricidad fina de los niños, muy llamativo el libro, colores muy videos y el material de muy buena calidad, incluso se puede usar con un plumón para trazar las lineas y poder borrar
