I have used the tool three times for very general 'dremel type' uses and the tool worked just fine. At this point I have not used it so routinely as to notice any 'problems' with it. I was just replacing my old dremel tool which finally failed after about 18 years of off and on use. This tool seems fine at this point. good value for the money.

This dremel has no truly relevant instructions. It goes over basic power tool safety and that's it. No information on any of the accessories. The bits are all good quality and with a large variety. The biggest problem is that when using the flex shaft it is impossible to tighten the chuck enough to properly secure the bit. It's not in danger of flying out but its loose enough that it loses precision when rotating which makes detailed carving and engraving impossible. Other than that its a cheap rotary tool. Does its job.

For the most part it does what it should. The kit comes with a great assortment of bits. The cutting wheels and polishing bits worked well. The sanding drums were very difficult to keep on the bit. They tended to slip off the end or down onto the shaft. I also experienced a few instances where I'd turn on the tool and nothing would happen. I'd turn it off, wait a few minutes, and it would work fine. For the price, it's probably good enough.Update: I apparently wasn't tightening the sanding drums properly. Upon modifying my methods, they work as desired. Still experiencing occasional failure to start.

A decent buy for the money, works great and does what it's supposed to do. Only downside so far is some of the sanding pads fit loosely to the attachments.However for the price and number of options they send you its a great starter for a casual or hobby user.

Just got this and it’s my first time using something like this. The “instruction” manual is woefully inadequate. There is no information about what each piece is and what it’s used for, and for a newbie jewelry maker it poses a challenge. If you’re experienced with tools like this I suspect you can figure it out with little effort (I on the other hand am just working my way through the set and asking acquaintances). The worst part of this though is the speed control setting. I had it set to 1 as I figured if I messed anything up it wouldn’t be as drastic as if I was using it at full speed. However, it surges, A LOT! It doesn’t seem to want to stay in low speed. The instructions say for the majority of applications the rotary tool should be used at high speeds, but I am sanding delicate beads and need a lower speed, which this thing doesn’t accommodate well. It’ll do for now, but I’ll probably upgrade to a better solution as soon as I’m used to the options I have with this tool and understand what each does accessory does. My recommendation would be to simply go to a better solution to start with and save yourself the wasted time and money.

the pkg looked like it should I pulled the rotary tool out when I tried to attach the flex shaft that's when I relized the flex shaft was pulled out of the pencil end. I repaired the end due to needing the tool right away. hopefully the flex shaft keeps working.

I have bought a few of these. My kids borrow them and somehow find a new home. This one, can't be oopsed out of the house. The red is distinctive enough to say mom's.
