Deep scratches & missing discs, but Amazon quickly made it right
I took a chance and bought the Kate Bush Remasterd pt 1 & 2 cd box sets.Part one was fine, no issues, but part two was missing 5 discs. Upon inspection I noticed The Other Sides were completely missing, no cds and no booklet. Also The Director's Cuts cd was missing & Before The Dawn cds had deep scratches on all three, and the booklet was smashed up, plus 50 Words For Snow cd was scratched...WOW! But no worries because I filed a return claim and Amazon quickly sent out a replacement. I was so stressed that the replacement would also have issues, but I received it today, and upon close inspection, all discs and booklets were intact and mint.... thank you Amazon for a quick and painless exchange...😁I'm very happy with this purchase despite all the negative reviews claiming the packaging is terrible, damaged discs and missing discs. After everything was taken care of by Amazon, I was able to listen to my favorite releases and just enjoy the music. It's Kate Bush for God's sake... simplistic packaging with Remasterd cds that jump out at you! Cds sound beautiful and crystal clear on my THX 7.1 set up.I have no complaints.

Kate Bush offers a disjointed boxed set - and leaves off rare tracks in favor of blank space
I've been a Kate Bush fan since 1989, and I was beyond excited that she was releasing two CD boxed sets of remastered material. I was a bit disappointed with the first set because (1) the sound quality wasn’t improved much beyond the originals, (2) the Hounds of Love album substituted in the single mix of “The Big Sky,” and (3) the outer box has ugly images of a fish-headed man in a loin cloth. However, at least that set had new and uniform packaging for the individual albums and looked like a true boxed set. The same cannot be said of the second boxed set. The studio and live albums in this set have the same packaging as the originals, just with slightly updated information, such as the year of issue. The inner albums do not remotely have a cohesive style to their packaging. Also, like the first CD set, this one doesn’t improve on the sound quality much. The real star of the set is the four-disc subset, “The Others,” which contains 34 non-album tracks. I own Kate Bush’s first boxed set from the ‘90s called “This Woman’s Work,” which includes 29 tracks spread over two CDs. It’s sad that the new set leaves so much blank space on the discs (one disc has only 31 minutes of music!) while leaving out fan-favorite b-side “Not This Time” - as well as “The Empty Bullring” "Ken," "The Confrontation," 12-inch mixes from the "The Red Shoes" era, and the songs from Kate’s live EP from the ‘70s.Also, this set includes two versions of the hit “Experiment IV,” but neither version is the hit version: One is the extended version, and the other is the version from the song’s promotional video. Granted, this version hasn’t been issued on CD before, so it’s good in that way. (The only other previously unissued recording is “Humming,” which was recorded in 1975 during the same sessions that spawned “The Man With The Child In His Eyes” and “Passing Through Air.”) In short, “The Others” won’t replace your copy of those two CDs of non-album tracks from the old boxed set. Also, the artwork for the subset is not great – even going so far as to show one photo of Kate Bush three times.Knowing Kate Bush’s exacting standards, I expected this 11-disc CD set to be a first-rate experience, but it simply isn’t. The biggest plus is that the set only costs around $110, so each CD costs around $10. It’s a great deal – but not a vastly improved experience of her music.

Part 2 of this woman's complete works (so far?)
My copy of the box set Remastered II arrived today from an Amazon Marketplace seller (a new copy for about $20 cheaper than directly from Amazon). I admit I was a bit apprehensive after reading other reviews about missing discs, but after opening it, the first thing I did was double-check and all 11 discs were there, intact and obviously in mint condition. I have not had the chance to play any of them yet, but I rarely have issues with CD's (DVD's are another story...), and really don't expect to. Each album (Aerial, Director's Cut, 50 Words for Snow, the live 3-disc Before The Dawn, and 4 discs of rarities, B-sides and 12" mixes collectively called The Other Sides) is in its own booklet (3 are "hardback" while Aerial is a wallet similar to the original packaging and Before the Dawn is essentially the same packaging as its separate release) with lyrics and other artwork from the original releases. Minor quibble: There is a missing B-side/bonus track that was not included - "Ken" from the EP "Aspects of the Sensual World." Perhaps there was a licensing issue.I'm looking forward to playing them as Kate worked with Pink Floyd engineer James Guthrie to remaster the sound. I'm also looking forward to receiving the first box set with Guthrie's remastering. My only concern -- is this it for Ms. Bush? All too often it seems like these complete recording sets act as the "final nail in the coffin" of one's career. I would hope she still has some new music waiting to be written and recorded.

Great addition for the Kate Bush fan
I'm a huge fan of Kate Bush, and I couldn't wait to get this. All the discs were in good order (in case you read other reviews where people were missing discs and were concerned). When I was a teen I had every 12" album of hers I could get my hands on. In my stupidity, as cd's took over, I got rid of my turntable and albums. DOH. I've been looking for a copy of Under the Ivy for years now. Now I have all the 12" and B sides I could want on The Other Sides, plus the Before the Dawn recording, which will never be the same as actually being there, but is still great to hear. Do I love every single version included in this collection? No, I don't really care for The Director's Cut, but who cares? There are songs included here I've never heard her do, so I am thrilled with this! I also got the Volume I collection, but I haven't really listened to that one yet. I had most of the albums already, and I'm assuming the changes are pretty subtle. I am looking forward to listening to these with headphones. For the Kate Bush fan, I highly recommend this!

Beautifully remastered
I won't bore you with a lot of details or irrelevant facts (there's enough people doing that). I will say that the remasters are really beautifully done with a lot of warm rich tones. They really do sound amazing! The only thing I really dislike about this set is the cardboard tri-fold digipaks.

This is what I waited for lots of bunus stuff
The first collection was just the first 7 albums remastered and sounding great. No bonus material, infact one less track by the removal of walk straight down the middle. Personally Kate Bush did the right thing, left the original albums as intended, not a pause and into some other material from the same time as the original album. I always find it never sits comfortably, so Kate's idea of 4 extra bonus disc is just perfect.First of all I thought there would be nothing much to improve the sound s these albums were not to old. I was wrong, the clarity on Aerial is amazing, and disc 2 is back with track titles and numbers, like the original EMI issue. A little surprise takes place when the Painter arrives, Rolf Harris has been removed! and replaced by another, don't worry it takes no enjoyment away. Kate Bush got a lot of flack as He appeared on 2 of her albums, the other being the Dreaming, with some of the papers saying she should remove him. Whatever your view on this Rolf is gone. The Directors cut was where I have noticed a complete difference, the original always felt muffled, this is just so much better the sound makes it a joy to listen, although I still believe the originals are still better. The same is said of Fifty Words for snow where the sound is a masked improvement like a different recording. As for the for bonus CD's this is where you are treated to pure gold, yes there are a few oddity's missing, but they appear or this Woman's Work box set, so no Ken (leader of the GLC) and know Live on Stage EP. However you get the 12 inch mixes including Running up the hill. The B sides which has some great I love Alchemy , be kind to my mistakes,The other side you get the Running up that hill 2012 mix from the Olympics, the covers included the 2 Elton John Covers, Rocket Man and Candle in the Wind. Also the Original December will be Magic Again and the knew Vocal version of Wuthering heights from The Whole Story. It is expensive but with Before the Dawn added you are getting 11 Cd's.

Fantastic collection of remasters
Already had the remastered in vinyl boxsets but couldn't resist picking these up on CD when they dropped in price. Not much to say about Kate Bush other than she's probably the best British female singer songwriter of all time. Every one of the albums included here are unique and classic in their own way. A must for music lovers of all ages.I have only 1 gripe with the CD remaster boxsets and that's with the design of the boxes. On their own they're nice enough but I'd have preferred that the 2 boxes at least had a similar theme so that you knew that they were a 2-part set. As it stands, when they are sitting on the shelf you'd have no idea that they were even from the same artist let alone a part 1 & part 2 of a remastered set, they are that different In fact there's no writing at all on either side of the boxsets which I find unusual. My OCD also kicks in looking at the boxes seeing that they are different depth sizes too.Highly recommended nonetheless.
