There are no black appliances or dark colored objects of any kind in my kitchen, so I was glad to find this white torch. PROS: It looks attractive and functions properly. CONS: I find the safety lock feature annoying (no kids here), and wish there was a way to disable it. But you learn to live with it. The fill valve isn't quite compatible with most butane cans, so you waste a lot of butane getting the tank filled.

If you're like me, you were looking for a kitchen torch, spent 30 minutes looking at 17 different models and their varying reviews, finally added one to the cart, but then were shown 3 more OTHER torches that were sponsored! ARGHHHHHH!!!Well. In the end, I'm glad I chose Vatelware. Here's why:1) Solid packaging2) Sleek, modern style - this the white and stainless color scheme matches my kitchen, and it doesn't feel out of place.3) Heavy Duty - It's not a lightweight piece of plastic. It has a solid metal center post with sturdy white ABS accents.4) Lock Feature - this comes in handy more than you think5) Instant on - The ignition on this thing is awesome. I was expecting to have to click it a few times to ignite, but it's been one click every time.At the end of the day, I couldn't think of any other features I would need in a torch. Only thing I forgot was to buy butane at the time of purchase, so just remember to do that! :)

Updated review- The first butane torch did not work, but I contacted the seller and was sent a new torch. The customer service was excellent and I am enjoying my new torch.

Works pretty well, not a strong flame but it does the job.

There others like this in the market in the same price range. I honestly picked this one because of the way it looks but once I got to hold it and use it, we are finding more uses for it. Okay my creme brûlée still needs work but from salmon to steak, to starting a fireplace fire this thing is great. My husband used it to shrink wrap electrical wires in his truck! Being able to see how much fuel you have left is also a plus. We also have a 7 year old - so having the safety button is a great plus for our family. This would be a great Christmas gift to friends and family.

I love to cook sous vide and find use with putting a char an fruits and desserts without firing up the grill. Wonderful.

I’m so 100% GLAD & HAPPY that I finally bought myself the perfect handheld torch for my kitchen! This torch burns perfect when burning the tops of Creme Brûlée’s and Lemon Meringue tops! I also tested it on my favorite premium cigar Arturo Fuente Maduro Robustos and it’s pretty damn strong when lighting up the foot of the cigar. I need to purchase another torch just for that purpose only. For all you Cigar Afficionados out there, this is the perfect torch to burn the foot of your favorite cigars! Trust me, you’ll see what I mean if you’re a cigar smoker!
