Libman 3021 Gator Mop Refill, 9"

I don't like the synthetic sponge mop heads, but I can't find the natural sponge mop heads anymore. This is a good compromise with the natural /synthetic sponge head combo, with the natural sponge being what touches the floor (the all-synthetic sponge mops don't seem to absorb as well for me, and I hate the feel of them). These mop heads hold hold up well are pretty durable until they've been used hard. This was a repeat purchase for me since I like them.

Nothing special about this product, a bit pricey but it works.

This replacement sponge for the Gator mop seems to be as durable as the original sponge so far. I have been using it for a few months and it has held up well. They don't seem to sell replacement sponges for this model of mop in store, so this is the place to get them.Update: the sponge lasted about 5 months and then started to come apart, so not as durable as the original. I've gone through a couple of them now, and the second one shredded and left chunks of sponge on the floor after a while. The packaging says they last through 50 uses, but it's more like 20-25 from what I've found. They're still a lot better than buying a new Gator mop.

Ever since I installed this mop head, I cannot stop mopping. My wife calls me “that mopping fool’. Well, she calls me other things as well, I just can’t post them here. This is a great mop head. I’ve tried them all, this is by far the best. But don’t take my word for it, give it a shot!

Had to order it as it fits my favorite mop. It squeeses out well and lets me scrub without slopping too much water on the floor. And they do seem to hold up well. Its just frustrating that the refill is as expensive as a new mop. And that it does not come in a muli pack.

Here's the problem....it's the same one many others are complaining about....IT'S THE PRICE. The sponge refill costs more than 8 bucks. Maybe at best, it could be worth a maximum of $3.00. Then like others have mentioned, I bought the total mop from Walmart. They don't carry the refill neither does any of the grocery stores or Lowe's or Home Depot that are near me. Next go around, I'm going to get a sponge mop from a manufacturer other than Libman.
