I-Ching Holitzka Deck

These cards are as beautiful as they are mystical. As a collector of various fortunetelling cards, I just had to have this I Ching deck after seeing the traditional artwork. The cards came with a detailed guide book that show how to do a reading and even includes an example reading to help with understanding. The card interpretations are detailed and yet still easy to understand. I am still getting used to the cards and have only done two readings so far, but they are very informative and insightful. While they aren't as detailed as my Mahjongg fortunetelling deck, they are definitely better than typical oracle cards. I am very pleased with this product and cannot wait to do readings for family and friends. The images are just breathtaking and I just know my querents will love them.

I bought these for the card art. The booklet is very brief translations that are straightforward, yet lack the imagery and aliveness of a real larger translation. I sometimes read the booklet after doing a reading with coins and a larger text. I like to then see the visuals pertaining to whatever I've cast. so really I use all together.If you are new to the I-Ching, please experience the full text. These cards and book could then be a good supplement.

I went throught all of the cards because i get that OCD feeling sometimes and checked each cards number, hexagram, and picture, meanings. I knew they would all be fine because they are. very beautiful to look at and interesting pictures for each hex. I only had a wierd feeling with the 29 cards number almost looks like 27, and the same card, which is water over water, looks almost like a flame. to me alittle strange but I imagine it is moving water in a gorge. and the card for fire over fire, doesn't look like fire at all. almost as if the cards pictures should switch. still love these cards. worth it all the way.

I like the cards mostly because of the design.The art work is nicely presented and colored mainly from dark, red and white.As for divination, the moving line is quite interesting established by the different of the first drawn card versus the second drawn card.For the interest of other reader who is interested in I Ching, there are many other ways to divine in Chinese version beside cards and coins.

i love the art work and i have not read the book just got it a couple of hours but the few lines i have read really shows the other views of the illuminati. i have used i ching on line before with great success so after reading the reviews on here i thought i would give it a try.so i know it will meet my expectations and more!!! thanks for reading my review!!

Beautiful design. Not quite sure about paper quality - I wish it would be a little bit thicker. Basically bought it because the artwork seems to be so nice. I wish instructions would be more informative.

Please do yourself a favor. If you truly want to use the I Ching, look at the book translations. There are a number of good ones out there. I find the ones written by Carol Anthony and Hanna Moog esp. helpful, for inner journey. As they interpret the hexagrams as symbols for what is going on inside of us. rather than the outer world. The language of I Ching is poetic and deep. The words become alive, and new meanings come forward the longer I work with it. This is the beauty of this tool, the Sage that comes forward to help us. To travel through the inner chaos without its help, is foolhardy. It is a big reason why most self help things do not really work. The Presence of the Sage is what sets the I Ching apart. These cards are ok, but one can so deep with the I ching, I have long wanted a visual card deck to use along with the written translations. This one is interesting start of this, as few westerners have attempted this. So my hat off to this artist. But it falls short for me. I would love a I ching set that uses imagery to mirror the inner world, also would like cards to include the name of the hexagram. as this is tougher oracle to learn, One basically has to learn 64 different energy moves, that can then move in many more directions, but cool thing is that in doing this, one learns the dance of life.

I have had a copy of this for years, and had "loved it to death"!! It is an absolutely wonderful contemporary translation of mydear friend, the I CHING. I have 4 translations that I work with, but this is by far the most understandable and spot-on of themall. It is written in contemporary parlance, and I would highly recommend it to anyone--whether a novice or a long term user.

Beautiful cards with a nice indepth guidebook. No extra I-ching books are needed.

This deck has nailed the deeper meanings of situations with people so well, and I love that you only need two cards per reading. Powerful and insightful, I adore this deck.
