My son loves this! It challenges him and east to put in the backpack or for travel!

I can't stand doing these things but my girlfriend was extraordinarily thrilled with the overall options in this book and the convoluted puzzles.So I guess if you are into this or if you have a friend who likes doing dot-to-dot... they're going to be as thrilled as my friend was!!!

Connecting the dots isn’t child’s play in Book 1 of the Greatest Dot-to-Dot Adventures featuring 46 challenges including two 3-page and one 4-page puzzlers. The hundreds of numbers that fill each page aren’t organized in a way that reveals the image. Somehow, designer David Kalvitis has created masterpieces that emerge not as the dots themselves are connected, but as the patterns between the dots are connected.That technique makes every dot-to-dot page a mysterious adventure until the final line is drawn. The completed pictures aren’t standard fare, either. One finished puzzle features a woman frosting a cake. Yet another shows a tiger, complete with his markings, drawn from one continuous line connecting dots 1 – 943. There are straightforward puzzles in the traditional dot-to-dot style, and ones that require following dozens of steps.These pictures are dots that tell a story. My sons, ages 11 and 13, enjoyed working these pages together over the school holiday. Dot-to-Dot Adventure is a great project for maintaining focus and learning attention to detail. But the genius in Kalvitis's books is that he has built anticipation into all that effort which is rewarded with a slowly revealing and clever image. Remarkable and outstanding.

Small print and too complex for most kids under 10; also, too challenging for adults who want to "relax" completing a dot-to-dot. Requires reading and understanding advanced directions, paying close attention to detail and a meticulous personality; if this sounds appealing to you, this is a 5-star book.

I have enjoyed so many of the “Greatest Dot To Dot” books but this one is a love/hate relationship. I love to see what the picture will eventually be BUT I hate the way the dots are found to get to that point. The numbers are small and when it is one of the dot to dots that ends at the stars and you have to begin and find the next number, it is beyond frustrating. Since I bought the book, I am going to get through it, but I will not buy anymore of the “Adventure” series. Way too hard for any enjoyment in the process of creating the image. Not relaxing at all like so many others in the “Greatest Dot to Dot” series that came before this one. Be extra sure and “Look Inside” before purchasing, You’ll see what I’m talking about and be sure and pay attention to what each calls for. Sorry, but not sorry for the 3 star review. I should’ve given this 2 stars but that would’ve been totally due to my frustration, so at least I gave an extra star.

If you enjoy dot-to-dots, THIS is the book for you! I do not enjoy dot-to-dots. I bought this for someone else and just opening the book kinda sends me in a tailspin..... I'd think you would need loads of time and patience to get the most out of this book. And a see through ruler. THIN pencil. Possibly a huge eraser.....I expected a story with words to accompany the puzzles or whatever dot-to-dots are considered. Not so. Therefore, I cannot really rate the book in terms of content, except to say that there are a LOT of dots. HEAPS of them. And other things that I didn't even try to understand....If you are "into" this sort of thing........ you will LOVE this book. If you know someone that is into this sort of thing....... you will LOVE giving this book. Lots of bang for your buck. If you have someone that you want to irritate and make feel inferior.... this could be an option as well. ;)

My 13 year old son completed this entire book - what a feat! I didn't realize how interested in this he would be. He spent hours and hours, and asked for the second book when he finished! He's a math minded boy and loves to read. He also plays chess. Maybe those are the kinds of kids who would love this? (I don't believe I would have the patience, personally!)The cool thing is the pictures tell a story from beginning to end (if you're clever enough to figure it out!)There is a 4 page spread in the middle which is so fun.SPOILER ALERT: I am attaching some completed pictures. Don't look if you don't want to ruin the surprise!

I've really got to remember to deactivate the one-step ordering on Amazon since my son (who has autism) ordered this on his own! All things considered, I'm glad he ordered this - could've been much worse! Anyway, he loves it! We actually have several of these books and they really are wonderful. Every few months, my son goes through a stage when he really gets into these books and when he does, they keep him occupied for hours - they're so detailed and really very well made. I'd love to sit down and do a couple of them myself but, well, he won't let me! :) JK - he would, but I love seeing the enjoyment he gets out of them and his sense of accomplishment when he finishes one!

My kids were very happy with the book.

Bought for 12 year old son who desperately wanted it. Although he loves it, he is finding some of it a little confusing. Still great fun though.

I love this book...It's well thought out and so clever. Dot to Dots, exciting even for adults. Thankyou for this great book, we want more like this!

I bought this as a present for a 12 year old who was delighted with it. It started a bit of a dot to dot craze within the family.
