Starting Point: A Small Group Conversation About the Story of God (Ten Sessions)

There is also an APP called Anthology that is free and you can view the videos that are a part of the updated curriculum on that app for free. This is a great resource for anyone that is exploring the Christian faith. It truly is a starting point.

My church offered this Starting Point study guide for new Christians, struggling Christians and searching non-Christians in an 11-week classroom setting. Although I'm deep into my Christian walk, I'm always looking for more. I signed up for the classes and could not have been more pleased. For me, the included CDs of topical sermons by Andy Stanley were life changing. I now have a much deeper understanding of why the bible can be historically trusted, about God's Grace (and why Jesus had to die for our sins) and how the Holy Spirit works within us. To me, this study guide is a "must have" for anyone interested in Christianity. The classes were nice but this study guide also stands well on its own as a self-study.

Whether you are new to Christianity or revisiting, this series provokes incredible discussions. Often we end up answering the questions in the chapter reading without even looking at them. This is my 3rd group to participate with and it gets better each time. If you know people who are seeking, take the next step with them and get this series going, miracles will develop and a true journey to understanding our relationship with God will begin to unfold. Don't let lack of biblical knowledge hold you back, together you and your group will find answers. I'll be praying for anyone who begins this series, something that I never would have thought to do in the past.

I think I listened to each CD 6 or more times. Very useful information. I found myself relating things that happened during my day, to what I'd listened to. Very useful.

This is the third time I have used this study. The first time I participated in it, the second time I co-led it and this time I am teaching it. It is perfect for new, returning or refreshing their faith. It takes you through how you are a part in "The story"

This is a great book for a new Christian especially during the early teenage years. When we fall short and succumb to our natural sinful nature we can read this book, repent, and step right back into the Lord's faith. It's a great diary, allowing each person who purchases the book notate their walk in believing in Jesus.

Our church is exploring resources to use in small groups with people who are new believers, coming back after an extended absence or who are just curious about Christianity. This material is the best we have found! It is accessible for everyone & not at all aggressive in terms of the theology it teaches. I highly recommend this resource! Starting Point has become one of the core discipleship classes/groups in our church. I've never seen such a well-developed resource to help new believers and those who are still seeking discover the big-picture of the Bible. Many of the people in our church who have participated in a Starting Point group have been changed... and have chosen to become followers of Jesus.

This is wonderful info for those new to Christianity or returning believers. Even for those of us who have grown much in our faith! I still listen to the series again now and then. I don't trust the new revised edition, given Andy Stanley's actions and words since this sermon series was originally done, but I'll still stand by this one. I've gone over it again since learning of his more recent words and actions, but find this one is still Biblically sound.
