My 6 year old really wanted hair chalk for Christmas. After reading the reviews I was unsure whether or not this would make a good gift, but since she really wanted it I figured it was worth a try. I'm so so so glad I decided to get it! I was pleasantly surprised by how well this worked. She has blonde hair, and it worked well on that. I have light brown hair and it worked well on mine. Grandma has grey hair, and it worked well on that too!This was easy enough for my daughter to use on her own (on my hair). It's basically just coloring, though you may have to go over the same spot a few times. It's not super vibrant bright color, but it's absolutely color that you can see!This is such a fun gift. She went back to it several times already. The crayons each have a lot of wax/color, so they'll be good for many many coloring sessions.I thought these were great...definitely worth the few dollars they cost on Amazon!

My daughter have black hair and the colors showed up pretty well. It doesn't look as bright as in the pictures on the box but the colors do show up. It's doesn't take too long to get the colors on to your hair but you can't do it in a minute. It still takes some time. In my opinion, it's easiest when you put your hair in the palm of your hand and color it with the hair chalk. The color will get on to your hand but it washes off really easy. If you hold it for a long time or if you rub it against something really hard it will come off but if you just touch it, the color doesn't rub off. You can sleep in it and it won't rub off on your pillow. It won't rub off on your clothes either! It will get on a brush if you brush the colored hair but again, you can always wash your brush. I think this is a great product. My daughter loved it. This would make a great present for a girl under the age of 14.

Great hair chalk, my daughter has used and washed and used and washed and is re-aaplying each day. OMG hahaha hopefully the phase will end. Chalk works well and the instructions for both that and beads are easy and well done. Cute box, and the tools you need are there. Important to comb through after application otherwise it looks grainy and pieces can fall out onto carpet ( speaking from experience ). But my daughter loves it and is happy with the set. Great gift for little girls - makes her feel all grown up!

Colors are not nearly as vibrant as the images make them appear. Despite the girl with dark hair on the box having beautiful streaks, the colors lack vividness even on lighter hair. The box images would also have you believe that your hair will hold a style after application but it is a flaky, waxy stuff that I would be terrified to use any heat on to make a curl. It sort of straightened my wavy hair but left it heavy and waxy. The little color comb removes most of the color, rather than pulling it through the hair.Having said all that, my kid was happy enough with the results as it was for kindergarten spirit day. Fortunately, his hair is light enough that the color was visible. The image is after fairly intense application and then a comb to get the "chunks" out.

Perfect gift for a child! It’s fun, simple, and washes out well. My daughter has blond hair and her friend has brunette hair. The colors showed up well on both hair colors.

These are BETTER. My little sister fell in love with them and goes to school every day with a different color combo.

I gave this product as a Christmas gift and tried it out right then. I was hoping the vibrant colors shown on the box would be easy to mimic since you just stroke the "chalk"over the hair. Nope! The chalk was more like a cross between a crayon and oil pastel.. greasy and waxy causing the hair to matt together, and you end up with the messy color on your hands as you apply it. The colors were very muted making it difficult to even see the color on the hair. We tried all the colors, a couple were brighter than the rest but still not easy to see. It was a waste of time, effort, and money! I felt so bad I gave such a horrible gift!

Purchased as a gift for my niece who was initially excited after unwrapping this. The product itself however was disappointing. Product did not apply easily and didn't seem to be very pigmented

Item was delivered earlier than expected, looks exactly as described, but is for Christmas, so don't know yet what my granddaughter will think of it, but I feel certain she will love it
