Unleash your personal God given vision.
This book was one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. If you are looking for a thick theological book, this is not it. Hybels does use scripture throughout, but this is more of an inspirational writing. He uses his own personal story, the stories of well known leaders (Mother Teresa, Bono, Martin Luther King Jr...), and the lives of a few people from the Bible.Although this book is relevant to people of any age, I would highly urge high school seniors and college students to read this book. I purchased two additional copies to give to people like this in my life.If you are looking for a push to take a step out and fulfill the thing you know you were created to do or you are looking for direction in finding that thing you were created for - this is a MUST READ! I will always look back on this book as a milestone in my journey of fulfilling God's leading in my life.

it doesn’t have to end like this!
Fantastic message. This was written in 2005 and it is encouraging in 2022 and beyond. Let’s get in the fundamental state by following our Holy Discontent.Inspirational!

Great Concept, Better Approach Needed
Having read and enjoyed many books from a great man like Bill Hybels, it is difficult for me to give this one only four stars. I love the concept of "holy discontent," and truly feel God is revealing something to him that makes strong Christian leaders tick. The problem is that what he writes has the tone of a self-help, man-centered essay. The sections of this book have headings such as "Where to find your holy discontent," "How to develop your holy discontent," and "The key to keeping your holy discontent alive."I believe this title can be a great source of help for Christians, particularly Christian leaders, in understanding what God may be stirring in their hearts and minds. The important thing to remember is that it is God who is revealing the discontent, God who is developing it, and God who is keeping it alive. It's all about Him, His glory and how he is using individuals to bring greater glory to His name. Understanding those things, get this book and allow God to open your eyes to what He is doing in your heart and mind.

Great book.
I've taught leadership for over 40 years. This is one of my top ten books for training church leaders.

Gained insight but, not the best book...
I go to Liberty University, a Christian college and I had to read this book for my leadership team. I thought the book was very insightful in helping to realize my holy discontent but, I felt the book was poorly written. I felt the author became redundant throughout the text. It is possible that you may like the book a lot more than I did but, I was not appreciative of his writing style.

Life Changing
I read this book in the summer of 2007... and still refer to it regularly when faced with issues of the world. It has changed the way I view serving others, career options and what direction I hope the Lord leads me in. I've purchased copies for several friends and have used this book - to find my firestorm of frustration - and let God use that to set me into motion for Him. Definitely well written, easy to read and hard to put down! I think every Christian should read this book. 2 thumbs up!

Awesome book
For anyone who has felt the burden of discontent, this book does a wonderful job of walking you through it and helping you figure out what is causing it as well as what you can do about it. I loved every thing I read and it helped me work through things I had been dealing with for awhile

Great book for helping you discover your purpose in life.
Within your soul is a deep desire to passionately pursue a holy undertaking. Go for it! In a dark world that seems hopeless you can still make a difference. Your work in that endeavor will be a light in the dark world and Bill Hybels book will give you holy examples and ways you can do it. Thank you Bill.

Deeply inspiring challenge to find what you are called to.
This is the second time of reading. The first time I read it and was enthused but then parked it on the basis is that now wasn't the time. This second time is here time. Hybel's words page after page spoke directly to me, challenged me, encouraged me to ago where a God is calling. Like his other books it is fantastically written but there's more to it than that - Hybel's has tapped into one of the core characteristics of being a Christian: living according to the calling God has given you. I cannot than Bill Hybel's enough for this book.

good book, good concept - first couple of chapters ...
good book, good concept - first couple of chapters are great - then it looses focus - not enough mention on the importance of maintaining relationships through difference of opinion
