Tales of Heresy (10) (The Horus Heresy) Mass Market Paperback – August 26, 2014

I came into this book thinking (after reading some reviews, shame on me) that this was going to be a poor amalgamation of the whole series. I was wrong. The stories are excellent. The Last Church in particular was great. But the short story, "Wolf at the Door." Holy cow. Mind blow. Absolute mind blow. I got chills.

I really enjoyed this book. I have read all the Horus Heresy novels up to this one. I skipped Mechanicum based on the reviews posted here on Amazon, but I intend to read that one as well. That being said, you will really enjoy this book of short stories. Each one has a small twist to it where you will find yourself turning those pages quite quickly! The only one I had a hard time trying to figure out was the last story of the book regarding the World Eaters. I read it anyway just for the sake of completion. Again, if you suffered through Descent of Angels and Mechanicum then you will find sweet relief reading this book!

A bunch of great short stories.

Let me start by saying "The Horus Heresy" is an awesome series.The last two books, Mechanicum and this book, were good in their own rights but both also lacked something. I won't review the former, but the latter was just a bunch of random stories that did little to let us see into the Heresy, nor did it push the overall plot forward. In my opinion, and it is just mine, I thought the series was to watch a legion fall from an insiders viewpoint or move the story forward... while this book did some of both it did neither to an extend that I felt some form of resolution.There is a really good side point however; if you haven't read any of the other Heresy books, you can read this one without getting too confused about what's going on.

Great book, arrived quickly and well packaged.

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series so far. This collection of short stories gives the reader insight into other aspects of the event that would not deserve (?) a full length novel. To give an example, if you like Stephen King but do not have the time to dive into a 500 page story, you can read one of his short story anthologies. This anthology is also a collection of stories that, I believe were released as e-stories.

I haven't read the book yet but I examined it very thorougly for any stains, tears, or anything like that, and I found none. The product is just as desribed, clean. What is more, I got the book in just one week, and I live in Turkey, thousands of miles away from the UK! I'd recommend this seller to anyone looking for cheap and clean second-hand books.

Ich habe alle bisher erschienenen Teile der Horus Heresy gelesen und fand fast alle sehr gut, daher habe ich mir diese Sammlung von Kurzgeschichten auch zugelegt und war absolut zufrieden.Wer also die anderen Teile mochte, sollte unbedingt zugreifen.
