A good book. Tells what it was like to be ...
A good book. Tells what it was like to be the victim of stereotypes and racism in California schools in the 50's and 60's, and no doubt the 2010's as well. I lived in New Zealand for several years and there are many parallels between the treatment and attitudes toward Maori children in New Zealand, and Mexican children in the USA. There is an excellent documentary on the deep and enduring issue of skin color and identity - Dark Girls - available on Netflix. Colonialism endures in institutions and cultures throughout the world. Xenophobia is a mystery to me but present everywhere. The bane of our planet.

Great, I had similar experience
Great, I had similar experience. A little late do anything about it, but it should not be allowed to happen again.
