Nimitz 2nd HDD SSD Hard Drive Caddy Compatible with Lenovo Ideapad 110-15 ISK/IKB with Bezel/Bracket

This kind of upgrade should be included in any older model refit. Upgraded a 5 year old 110-15 ACL with more RAM, SSD and this HDD caddy, to replace the broken DVD drive that was originally in the unit. After cloning the old 500Gb HDD onto the SSD, I wiped the HDD, then installed it in the caddy and put the whole thing back together. It runs better than new. I've had no issues with the slower DVD bus and can watch videos from the HDD, through the caddy, with no stuttering or lag.

I originally used it to add an SDD for booting. Benchmarks showed me that the interface was slowing down the transfer rate. I ended up swapping and putting the SDD and the internal disk. It slows down the HDD too, but it's less noticeable than when the SDD was in the caddy. Somehow in the process the boot sectors got damaged and had to reformat both drives. I'm not sure if the caddy did it or otherwise.

This caddy fit my ideapad 110-15isk perfectly and was read by the system immediately. It took about 5 minutes to install. It came with everything I needed to install the HD in the caddy.

What's to mess up? Works just fine for replacing CD-Rom with new SSD drive on my Lenovo IdeaPad 110. Did not even need to crack the case to add the SSD and clone my HDD. I can also swap it out with another SSD when I want to run Linux!
