Awesome kit.
I purchased this kit because the design of the aircraft was stunning and I also didn't want to spend the cash on the toy which I ultimately did anyway. Also being a huge fan of Robotech/Macross brand since I was a child, I knew this was a must have. The kit has a ton of parts and can be very intimidating. I've built many kits before but these are on a different level when it comes to detail. The parts fit perfectly but if you're the type to play with the model, I would suggest using glue to support a lot of the bendable hinge points. The instructions were understandable but I wouldn't recommend this for children or inexperienced builders. It can be frustrating at times. A magnifier would help with some of the little parts requiring assembly. My eyes went crossed several times and I had to walk away from this build. The instructions note when to apply decals throughout the build... squash that and apply as many extras as you can as you build. Applying a lot of them are a pain after this is assembled. There are a lot of decals so be prepared for this!Fortunately you get decals and stickers which some work better then others depending on the location needing applied.Other then all this, I loved the kit and have all the designes. I still have a lot of details and stickers to apply. Even though I bought the bigger one, I like this kit better..I look forward to building the rest of them.

Decals are really intense
I bought this model knowing the decals were going to be a lot of work. However, I was still not prepared for the effort and fragility of the decals. Most are just fine as long as you don't man handle the model, but the stripes under the nose will flake as soon as you transform it, no matter what. A piece rotates during the transformation and rubs the decal right off. Also, in the first step, while building the nose, it does not tell you to apply decals to the fuselage piece directly behind the cockpit, despite that part being half covered once the build is complete. I didn't notice this, finished the build and had to half-transform the model to apply those decals, which then ruined the other decals i mentioned above. If you plan to protect the decals with a top coat (a good idea) do it in parts as you go, because if you plan to top coat once it is done (my plan) it will be too late. I really wish I would have research this kit a bit more before jumping into it. Would have left me more prepared for the decal challenges. If you are experienced with decals and painting I am sure this kit will be great and still challenging. If you are more use to just doing Snap builds, then probably avoid this one. Check out the Frontier models, they are less complicated decal wise than the delta ones.

As long as the product is flawless you are fine
STAY AWAY!!!! So this is the second of this kit I purchased and the knee has broken again. Panel H which is supposed to be made of ABS as you can see from the picture is VERY brittle. When I tried to assemble the joint piece H1 broke. I tried the one for the other leg and the same thing. The other panels made with ABS have some give to them which make sense since they are for the joints but something is wrong with the plastic in this panel that makes it extremely brittle. The knee joint was broken out of the box and when I contacted retailer the referred me to Bandai's support. When I did so Bandai informed me that they did not give replacement parts to items unless they were purchased in Japan. That meant that I could not get a replacement part for the model. Since this was within the Amazon return period, I returned the unit as defective. The seller later filed a claim against me saying that I did not return the unit I had gotten the return for tried to have my account terminated. I did no such thing and returned all of parts I was able to short of the backing for the water decals that I used. While I did order a unit to replace the defective one, that was the last order I will make with this retailer. Not only because they accused me of fraud, but because if there is anything wrong with the model, you can't get a replacement part and they will screw with you if you try to get your money back for it as well.

Not really impressed by Bandai. This feels like a HG instead of MG
I have to say this kit I wasn't very impressed especially I just finished building a liger zero Jager. The attention to details on the liger zero out weight this one. Either I have been spoiled by Gundam series like the MG freedom 2.0, MG star build strike, MG duel assualt gundam, strike PG, MG 00, Exia 00, etc. This model kit felt like it was let down. The amount of stickers are insane. There probably more stickers than the delta plane parts itself. Putting the model kit together is fairly easy but some parts seem very fragile so do be careful with that. I don't mind like small decals but if the entire plane needs decals so it doesn't look like a HG or SD Gundam... not worth the money. I rather just save up and buy the DX edition of it. lol

Cool Model; Has Flaws
This model has probably been the hardest to build in my collection, and my first Macross model. (Amateur model builder). My first impressions were a little daunting, but the build was generally easy to follow and rewarding. Be warned: there are A TON of stickers/decals to put on, and it takes a while to do them. Once the kit is assembled and most of the stickers are applied, it looks freaking awesome. However, like everything, this model has flaws. For one, there are joints on the ankles that are really fragile. Both of mine broke, so I had to use plastic cement to glue the ankles on. There's also a part on the chest/rear of the cockpit that refuses to stay on and is incredibly hard to replace once it falls off.The transformation instructions aren't quite as clear as the building ones, but they're still easy to follow. When transforming, the model feels somewhat fragile.Overall, this model looks really cool in fighter mode, and is fun to build. However, be prepared with your plastic cement and patience during the transformation or posing.
